Have a hard time believing this one. BI has to be the guy they covet most. Kuz plays Zion's position. Makes no sense but Davis/LeBron/Ingram/Green/Beverly is quite nice.

Scoop B is not very reliable. From what I've seen, he's wrong more often than right. But I'm with you guys. If we get to keep Ingram and get AD, I'm all for it. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Absolutely. I can stomach sending Kuz Ball and 4th which would have been a 11th initially, for AD.

I thought we wouldn’t be able to have a max space anyway after the trade regardless which package we offer.
This really has been repeated so often in this thread. You have to be able to send out just a shade under $21.6MM in outgoing salary to have a within-the-rules, salary-matching trade for AD. The order of sequence would be agreeing to a trade before free agency (but that it can't go through officially until 30 days after the #4 pick signs), signing a max free agent with cap space, and then officially executing the salary-matching trade for AD. So when thinking about an AD trade, any trade that sends out at least that nearly $21.6MM figure must be accomplished. On the first page of this thread you should see salary figures for certain players, and you can also go to sites like Basketball Insiders to look at specific salary figures for players on the Lakers and other teams, if you'd like. I will also note that you can sign the #4 pick to 120% of scale, meaning the actual salary of that player that goes out in the eventual trade could actually be just over $7MM. Anyhow, the following trades would get you to that nearly $21.6MM figure...
--First Scenario: Lonzo, BI, and #4. Our top 3 assets get you there.
--Second Scenario: Keeping BI. If you did that, you'd have to send out Lonzo, #4, Kuzma, Hart, Wagner, and Bonga. Doesn't leave us very much depth, however.
--Third Scenario: Keeping Lonzo. If you did that, you'd have to send out BI, #4, Kuzma, Hart, Wagner, and Bonga, and you'd still be slightly short. This means that you would have to get the Pels to agree to take back a player like Jemerrio Jones for the added salary, but that also means that you'd have to keep Jones' hold on the books during free agency, which means that the max free agent would have to take slightly less than the max. And like the Second Scenario, you also have virtually no depth left.
So there are basically only two trades we can make that get us to the necessary salary, with the third one leaving us just shy of max space.

Once again, Lonzo over Ingram. Kuzma over Ingram. Should we be more concerned about his medicals? If we had AD, would we see Ingram's situation as being worth the risk?
IMHO, if NOP doesn't want Ingram, I'm getting a 3rd team involved to take Ingram. _________________ Build around team players, not ISO players.

Seems fishy, no?
NOP must be real high on the 4th pick. We offered all 3 players at the trade deadline and they were like "nope, no thanks". _________________ Build around team players, not ISO players.

I could see that as a possibility, yes. Especially since it would leave us with very little depth. Perhaps there is a match to be found where we end up with a viable player or two, at least, or perhaps a high 2nd round pick in this year's draft. Something.
If we traded Ingram by himself in a separate transaction, we are allowed to take back $5MM more in incoming salary, or about $12.26MM. Perhaps there's a match to be found where a team is willing to give up a couple of players below that salary, or perhaps one established player and a pick, who knows. And we'd have to ask ourselves, which team would find Ingram intriguing enough to be cool with paying him a decent contract at the end of next season? Maybe a team that has a lot of trouble signing any decent free agents, and would be willing to risk a shot at acquiring a talented guy?

Don't start complaining about him not being able be a passer or ball handler like Giannis. He's not Giannis. He's not KD. He's not LeBron. AD is best in the P&R as the lob man, pick&pop and taking 3 dribbles or less to score.
Don't try to re-invent the wheel. Pair AD with an elite passer and/or attack guard and let the guard create easy looks for AD. _________________ Build around team players, not ISO players.

While I agree AD is great at those 3 items listed, he's not a bad ball handler and he is a pretty good passer from a top the key, where the Pelicans seem to use him there a bunch.
But having Kyrie (or Kemba) and Lonzo being able to either feed him lobs, or work the P & R with would be very tough to guard. Add in Lebron's passing ability and we'd have a lethal amount of combos to throw at teams.
So the in the Scoop B deal should read
Pels get : Kuzma, Ball, Hart, #4, Wagner, Bonga
Lakers get: AD
So that leaves a team which would consist of
LeBron, Davis, Ingram, the max slot, a MLE and the south bay Lakers
yeah, you do that deal
Nope, wouldn't have a max slot. Ingram's contract is too big I think
That's why I'm a fan of keeping Kuzma over Ball/Ingram, keeps a fair amount of cap space open. That said, would be happy if we keep Ingram (won't be sad to see Lonzo go)

I believe we would have the room exception, not the midlevel exception. You figure we could get a couple of decent veteran ring-chasers for the minimum, and then probably at least one decent veteran during the season via the buyout market. Depth could still be an issue, though.
