Sure they have talent, but teams with talent haven’t always won. It takes talent and a commitment from the FO to succeed. I doubt that Lebron feels warm and fuzzy about his future being in the hands of Linda and Kurt Rambis. |

That's crazy that we had a 1st teamer and 3rd teamer playing together and just barely made the playoffs. |
Coaching was horrible that year - Mike Brown, Bickerstaff and then D'Antoni was a bad fit for that particular group. |

LeBron has started recruiting from Kawhi, Kyrie, Butler

There is no tampering enforcement by players. … The thing about it is, I don’t know if texts and calls and maybe a dinner with LeBron is enough for the Lakers to overcome the hurdles that they’re going to have.” |

An Instagram account named "cuffsthelegend" posted a picture on Friday of Celtics guard Kyrie Irving in a Lakers jersey, which James liked. Start the speculation! |

The National media has been (bleep) on the Lakers for a while now and that’s fine, but Lakers twitter is going to go (bleep) on the media if the Lakers get Kawhi or Kyrie.
If they thought it was insufferable in the past, wait until they see Lakers twitter after all this piling on... |

The fact Lebron is recruiting all 3 means that not one of them have given a good indication they want to come here, or else no reason to hedge his bets and talk to all 3. FWIW, Arash Markazi (sp?) tweeted yesterday or today that if the Lakers offered Butler the max, he'd come here in a second. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

I think you are correct. The only ones who seem to be “all in” are AD (not in control) and Butler (only if offered max). |

If talking to all three gives us the best shot at ultimately ending up with one of them, I'm fine with it. No more PG situations where we put all our eggs into one basket and are left hanging at the altar.
The great thing about having Lebron on the roster already, despite what people may think of him or other players wanting to play with him, is that we actually have a big fish out there recruiting for us and getting in these guys' ears early on...as opposed to the last 5-6 seasons of waiting until July 1 to make our pitch. Gives us a leg up on the Clippers and Knicks IMO, even if their FOs are tampering. |

Lebron will get someone. Let’s hope it’s Kawhi or Klay. |

I consider Kawhi to be the longest of odds and I'm not getting my hopes up.
If Lebron lands him he deserves to be NBA EOY. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Or maybe recruit isn't the right word.
He might have just been gauging the situation.
Checking to see where each of their heads are at and to see if the players had interest in joining Lebron. |

Lebron has stayed out of the front office screw-ups by not weighing in publicly and letting them do whatever they think they need to do. I'm sure he is sensitive to the accusation that he was going to come in and take over the team -- although the Lakers seem even MORE sensitive, to the point where from the outside it looks like they're freezing him out of having input.
We don't know if that's true.
But Lebron can still salvage the roster by his personal appeals to players and the assurance that once they get on the court, not even the Rambi or Jeanie or Rob can screw it up if they stick together.
He still has the respect of most of the players in the league except for a few thin-skinned players or guys who want to be The Man in their new cities. I think he's got a puncher's chance of lining up some good pieces to the roster. He can't swing a trade by himself, but he can definitely get guys willing to come join him. |

Or maybe he just enjoys being the story? Picking the place in town where TMZ camps out ensures that he gets maximum media exposure. It might help ticket sales for his movie. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Either that or maybe that one player could sign but a second would have to be had in sign and trade? And that’s a wild card that takes another team willing to agree before losing that player for nothing? Maybe? |

Exactly, it would be a miracle and if it happens I know it will be due to LeBron making it happen.
If not, hopefully he delivers us another top player and I like keeping the lines of communication open with AD even though New Orleans is part of the collusion against the Lakers lead by Popovich. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
