Not a prediction per se, but it could happen, albeit unlikely:
Warriors:
They trade Green to try to get Durant to resign
Durant signs with the Knicks
Thompson signs with the Lakers
Cousins signs elsewhere
AND THE WARRIORS ARE LEFT WITH STEPH AND A BUNCH OF FILL-INS
Celtics:
Irving signs with the Knicks
Horford does NOT opt out
Morris & Baynes sign elsewhere
And they turn down trading all their young talent to NO for AD
SO THEIR BIGGEST STAR IS HAYWARD...AND $115MIL IN CONTRACTS
I WISH, I WISH... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

I think thompson stays with them no matter what. Curry + Thompson + fill-ins probably still makes the playoffs, but it will come down to health _________________ Kobe |

Agreed about Thompson. The only reason he would leave is if he wants more money and to be "the guy" which I don't think he cares for. He's in a great situation where he's happy. I just don't see him leaving. |

He can’t leave and get more money. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I was assuming the scenario where GS wants to sign him for less than max to have room to sign others/be competitive. Which I don't know if GS would do. But if they did, a max from someone else could be a reason to leave.
I don't think either of these are likely, just throwing out possibilities. |

Cousins is the odd man out at GS, both this season and beyond. Doesn't fit into the defense and barely keeps the ball moving on offense. He's a second rate passer and volatile personality (equal to Green too) and IMO that's one too many big mouths for a championship run.
I have no idea whether Durant will leave that situ for the NYK quagmire.
I think Klay stays and Harrison Barnes could opt-out of SAC to return to the Warriors if Durant should choose to exit this Summer.
If Green leaves, it's really the highest potential change (read: a death scream) to the Warriors' run. He makes the whole thing work. With Iguodala hurt and slowed and increasingly less efficient a shooter, the margin for error without Green and Iggy as top form glue guys makes the Warriors just a top ten squad. |

Their demise is when we beat the full strength or not Warriors in western Conf final then sweep the Celtics next season. This 2nd max better come thru |

If the Bucks, Raptors or some other eastern conference team dethrones the Warriors, I think they will probably split up in the offseason. I think Durant is probably gone no matter what happens, he is probably looking for another place where he feels at home. |
