Well, they're not going to win the championship. They're just building the right way because they don't have the cache to short-cut it. We think we have the clout to short cut, and people simply don't like line cutters. You see them at Disneyland or Magic Mountain, they try get in front. The Lakers are those people. |
And the irony of it all is the Clippers are going to get Kawhi without giving up any assets. Meanwhile, Maginka tries to trade for Kawhi and Pop just laughs. |
KL going to sign with the Clippers by himself? |

No. Clippers put up 140 against the Celtics, we get our ass kicked. Clippers have Lou, Gallo, Shamet, Harrell. Good rebuilding core. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Why not? It’s already a playoff team with good assets and cap space.
Also, a competent front office when it comes to roster construction and team building. |

Chemistry, nobody believing in them, and a good front office that knows how to build a team composed of players that other teams deemed expendable. |

clippers keep winning and now are the 6th seed and can possibly even be a 5th seed in the playoffs when they were projected to win less than 35 games by nba analysts and everyone else beginning of the season |

The Clippers have more cap space than us too this summer. _________________

Agree wholeheartedly with the “chemistry” comment.
The most overlooked and underrated aspect of building a winning team at any level
It is about trust, communication and the willingness to sacrifice for the guy next to you and do what is best for the team not the individual. Such simple concepts taught to every team from grade school on. Yet has been lost with the Lakers,
Compare the post game interviews of the Clippers to the Lakers. Winning certainly is part but listen to them. One group talks about the team, the other about themselves,
Going to be interesting to see if Magic can change the culture in one off season. Especially with the league’s biggest Prima Donna as the centerpiece. Good luck with that! |

Meanwhile, Maginka have eyes on Clippers trash DeAndre Jordan.
Do they even watch games? Or are they just part of the lazy executives group that only sees “name player.” |

The crazy thing is that they have not made any mortal mistakes just yet by signing bad players to long term deals.
They could emerge from this summer with another max FA, a top 10 draft pick, and assets to make another big trade.
But it's been a fear of mine that Magic is clueless when it comes to building a team.
He wants to buy a team and then assumes 2 max FAs are enough to win the day when you see that the best teams have multiple all stars AND a strong supporting cast. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Very simple: they obviously didn't get obsessed with "names", used analytics, and found quality players. They built a team, not one guy surrounded by ill fitting pieces. Add in good coaching and a good team culture and this is what happens. And, of course, they now have the cap space to get a star player and still surround him with quality guys at the other four positions. |

I am not as critical of Magic to call him "clueless". Just that he has made his brag and painted himself into a corner with this path he has chosen. Now he likely feels has to back it up.
How desperate or clouded his judgement is will be seen this summer. I may have little confidence in the current path but it is frustratingly entertaining if nothing else. I'm interested to see just how far he and the organization will go to make the "2 max plan" actually work. Will the team have any chemistry or just a bunch of individuals?
Biggest question remains just kind of team we actually end up with? Contender or cluster**** to be mocked. |

I'm very concerned b/c he got the big fish in LBJ.
Then he proceeded to believe that KCP/Rondo/Lance/Beez was the best way to surround a top 3 talented player.
It's not just about getting the max players, it's about how you build around them.
This will be a notch against LBJ in the GOAT debate, but Magic also should bear the brunt of being the architect of an LBJ team that failed to make the playoffs. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It is absolutely fair. You don't get LBJ and then proceed to surround him with trash FAs.
I'm giving Magic a shot until this summer, but to be blind to this season's failure, even with injuries, is not reasonable. We made mistakes after making a triumphant signing. Calling it objectively here. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

He also dumped horrible contracts and landed the best player in the league.

If there had been more of a tilt towards shooters instead of playmakers when assembling the roster, there would always be the chance that the shooters could get hot in some games and overcome LeBron being out. |

It's very simple. We need to surround LeBron with defense and shooters. |

They also had Chris Paul and Blake Griffin to trade. That's the reason they got most of those quality players, you know. And they still aren't as good as they were before they traded those guys. |

Didn't the Clippers dump Blake Griffin after he signed a max with them and told him he was going to be "the future" of the squad. Nobody cares about that anymore? |
