This to me sounds like they are trying to score some extra points with McGee after the fact, maybe so he’ll be back next season on a min contract. Second, the Beasley needed to be traded thing is silly because they could just release him. Again, sounds like they are trying to get a little more in the sending message department just to do it. And, then the whole contract thing with Zubac is bull because he’s a low cap hold, and again, should they need that space, they can just let him go in the offseason.
I think what they can’t say is that they made a mistake by not bringing back one of their two stretch bigs (Bryant and Lopez). And they can’t say that a real reason for adding a stretch big now is to help increase the value of BI and Lonzo, both of whom miss having Lopez who opens up space and is available for very easy assists on the pick and pop. Easy passes that make the game simpler.
So they push these other narratives to try to get a little something additional from the moves as well as provide some type of answer to the Why? Just my two cents because these other reasons are pretty absurd. |
And if they needed a pick and pop big, why can't they just play Wagner? |
Luke seem opposed to playing him for whatever reason. He might as well at least let him play in the G League.
Letting Lopez go was the biggest mistake of the offseason that arguably could've changed the entire season. | Lopez would've gave LeBron/Ingram all the space in the world on offense. I thought they were going to bring him back, now he's helping Milwaukee win. _________________

Before he got sick (and got his panties in a bunch), McGee was a great signing (despite his low IQ). Would love to see him back at a reasonable price next year. When his head is in the game, he arguably is one of the best rim protectors we have had in a long time. |

So sad, Zu's gone. I guess Jeanie Buss' theme song is now ours.

Magic and Pelinka have shown once they have an opinion, they stick with it. That’s what happened with Russell, Randle, Lopez, Zu and what is happening with Luke. Early in the season they chose Zu over Bryant. When Zu started the season playing horribly, they moved on from him. From that point, it probably didn’t matter how well Zu played.
If you want off the Lakers, all you have to do is make Magic think you’re not making him look good. |

Magic, "I don't care how you can stuff the stat sheets in limited playing time. Clog up the paint, D-up other big men, get a few blocks, and hit over 80% free throws. If you can't hit a three pointer once a week, and hit it at a 34% clip, you're dead to me." |

Zo is his pick. He will give him more of a leash if only not to take blame for the pick. _________________ Llluuukkkeee |
