Vuc.
Kuzma
Lebron
BI
Kyrie
I'd say that would be a very good off-season. |
i rather try to go for AD than Vuc but in this hypothetical trade I'd much rather trade BI than Ball. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

IF the Lakers have to punt again this summer in the hopes of attaining AD as a FA in 2020, how would folks feel about that?
This assumes that literally close to a dozen of the top FAs decline.
And maybe we have to do something like offer Boogie a 1 year 32m deal or something as a placeholder. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Obviously the 2nd FA is the best... but punting for AD in 2020, is better than panicking and trading the future for 7 to 10 assets next season.
The only person it's theoretically bad for is LBJ... but if you think about it... you are saving him from the embarrassment of trading an entire team and still losing which would destroy his legacy and his brand to a large degree.
People say... but no... we'd have tons of ringchasers... and sure with AD we'd get more bites than we did during the buyout sale... but it's certainly not an auspicious sign that people aren't leaping to come here.
Why would FAs want to come and play with someone who bosses them around and throws them under the bus if they don't win?
LBJ has created his own problem with his arrogance... and we should worry about our future more than his. |

Not sure. I guess it would come down on what KD does. If he resigns with the Warriors. It won't matter much. |

Wouldn't it depend on how much each player demanded?
Remember, you aren't just dealing with a BI vs. Ball basketball issue... you are dealing with a BI vs. LaVar contract discussion. Once you sacrifice BI...you are giving LaVar much more bargaining leverage. Maybe BI is willing to sign for cheaper.
I don't know... it seems like we'll have to pay through the nose to keep any of the kids after how poorly we've treated them... but I still think LaVar will be even more hell to deal with once Zo's cost control winds down. |

But that's what RFA is. They can demand all they want, but if it doesn't reflect FMV then there's no rush to pay it early. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'm saying as long as you have BI and Kuz in the fold... LaVar doesn't have much leverage.
Once you choose Zo over the other two... you've made a long term commitment and burned two bridges.
So when he becomes unrestricted you've already sacrificed two players that might have worked with you vs. one who only thinks of himself.
It's such a clusterf*ck at this point, that maybe all of them want out eventually so future team unity isn't a consideration.
But I'm just saying I'd put that into my own calculation.
I think Magic needs to commit to the core to fix this team for the short term and maybe he can save some of them as future Lakers.
The longer this process drags out... the more bitter the taste will be in their mouths... and the less likely other agents will want to come because of how they saw our kids get treated. |

I'd go door number 3 with Kuzma and KCP for Vuc if we have to.
Zo and a PG should be able to coexist, and we need a defensive QB. I love all 3 young kids but as great of a fit with LBJ that Kuzma is, he also guarantees the Lakers will have two bad defensive forwards when paired up.
Anything they can get on the defensive end at center (defensive boards, box outs and blocks at the rim in Vucevic's case) is worth looking at. If AD doesn't happen, they'll either roll with all the kids and do a center by committee or make this type of deal. |

Kyrie
Ball
Ingram
LBJ
Vuc
Rondo (room x)
Hart
McGee (low cap hold)
Bullock (cap hold should just fit)
Wagner
Bonga
1st
That's a legit team, provided a super team doesn't form that's a contender.

There is no way you can pay Kyrie 32m and offer Vuc FMV (18-22m) with our close to 38m in cap space. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Is Kuz traded in this scenario? |

GM Dell Demps is no longer with the Pels per WOJ. Fired or resigned, he was a lame duck. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

That's a reason why the AD trade talks were dead on arrival. Demps was a lame duck and the Lakers should have seen the AD trade trap. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Subsequent Woj tweets said ownership was mad AD left arena (I guess we're blaming Demps for that) and they like Gentry, and blame the players. Ok then! They just threw a lot of logs on that dumpster fire. |

Yes, it is very likely we will get AD now more than ever, in the summer. |

You don't ignore and then finally answer and treat Magic like he did!

Ferry worries me a bit, he comes from the Pop tree but El Presidente Rich Paul has the Pelicans by the balls right now!

It's not. It's more in the 36-38m range (assuming we renounce guys like KCP, Bullock, Muscala, etc.). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'm sorry this was in response to the post about signing Kyrie and then a sign and trade for KCP. Their version was KCP and Ball, mine was KCP and Kuz.
I may be wrong though, because if you renounce everyone beside Bullock and McGee I dont know if you can sign and trade KCP (if he agrees) with bird rights. That's like early level CBA stuff I'm goofing on. |
