yah i know they're pro's and they're supposed to just play their best every night but all things considered it's probably gonna take alot more than just professional pride.
1- Have a meeting and be honest and straight forward with all the players...Let them know why they almost got traded and what needs to happen so that there is less of a chance that that will happen again in the future. The players themselves have to admit they were playing badly without Lebron and must improve. They are adults and must understand the main purpose of the game is to WIN and if that doesn’t happen then you run the risk of getting traded....Simple.
2- Hire a flipping shooting coach ASAP....Practice your long distance shooting form and your free throws.
3- Hire new coach...IMHO Luke has to go. It has to be someone who can deal and has experience with youngins and a super star like Lebron. Yes finding a great coach is probably as hard as landing AD in a trade lol.

Why would they buy that malarchy at this point?
They said the same stuff to Randle, he had the season of his career as a 20/10/4 starter and the teams best defender who could defend 1-4 and he got sent off like nothing.
Magic called Ingram untouchable and Lonzo the future that would break his records and behind their back was willing to get rid of them just as quick.
They have no reason to believe a darn thing this coaching staff or the FO tells them at this point. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Its a mans league and they have to grow up...Suck it up drive on and let your play on the court do the talking. They getting paid well and have one of the best in the NBA (Lebron) to try and learn from. Just freakin play ball...Its not the end of the world.
This team with these players is done. It will never work with this group. FO will change something now or they will wait until the season is over but this team at the moment with Luke in charge can't work as a team. That ship has sailed few days ago.

This is nothing new... Some of the young guys been involved in trade talks since the PG and Kawhi drama. A lot of the other guys been in trade talks, cut and journey men most of their careers. These guys should understand its part of the NBA. Magic made a mistake calling this kids untouchable. Maybe he was just trying to drive up their values.

Right. People here are so quick to villianize Magic that they are painting our young players like actual children. I honestly don't think Lonzo or BI give a (bleep). They're too laid back for all that. That trait may hurt them somewhat at times on the court but it'll help them in this situation.
Posters here are more offended than the players I think. Give our players some credit. We get it…some of you don't like Magic. However it's flat out insulting to these players to pretend that they're delicate flowers that are going to wilt now that they weren't loved by their father.
And if they do pack it in because of a week of friggin trade rumors than what does that say about them? I wonder how alone woulda reacted to this. Hmmm…

If that's true than we put together the wrong team to begin with.

Everyone who understands the game that this roster was poorly constructed from the beginning. You sign Lebron with no shooters. Hopes that the young guys suddenly take off and become stars. Always been a trial punt season when they didn't get that 2nd star. None of the young guys were sticking in the first place. They always been expendable if there's an opportunity for another superstar.
I wonder how Jerry West would have handled this trade season ...
by not saying a darn thing.
One of Magic's biggest problems is he loves to talk.
People used to complain that Mitch didn't talk enough, and when he did, he had very little to say
But now you see the opposite of that.
Magic talks up a storm and then when he does "GM things" that could be perceived as 'well thats messed up." it looks twice as bad because he spent all that time promoting the opposite to the media.
When you scream to the media how someone isn't a leader, and they become an all-star, the eyes look at you.
When you scream a guy is untouchable and put a 20 ppg expectation on them, when you are willing to drop them so quickly, the eyes look at you.
When you proclaim another kid as better than the last kid you had which is now an all-star and promote the kid as the one to destroy your Laker records, and you are willing to dump him at the flip of a coin, the eyes look at you.
And deservedly so. If Magic didn't want this much attention, he shouldn't have brought it on by constantly talking it. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I found it funny that we were once a top 5 team in the western conference this season before all the injuries kick in. The current mess is because the front office doesn’t value our young core. The chance of us getting back to the playoff is high if this trade talk doesn’t happen. The front office deserves all the blame. Magic might have the charm to attract free agent and Pelinka might understand very well what players desire but their experience in trade negotiation is low.
I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say that maybe, just maybe, they might want to do all those things that might lead to winning. I know, a crazy idea.
Lastly, two other items. Don't feel sorry for Julius Randle. They asked him to become a better player. He did. Such is its own reward. Now re Lavar, I doubt, in fact I'd bet even my non liquid assets that he didn't, but I entirely doubt that Skip said, Lavar, are you telling us that so you so failed as a father that after all you taught your son, the Lakers found the room to teach him to lose?
If people know they are not wanted on a team nothing can be said by the Magic or anybody else..There is one way i can think of that this team might unite, The veterans on this team need to fire this team up and tell them to show managment why they are wrong in doing what they did. This is where i look at Lebron to be a big factor...It's really all up to him to be honest either he gathers the team together and makes one last push to make the playoffs or we just accept defeat and lay down while this team continues to implode game by game.
But this is the Lakers unlike any other franchise you put that Jersey on and you're Lebron James it's your duty to lead by example and remind players what they are here for. The (bleep) playoffs.

I'm going to add to this...Magic telling the media repeatedly that LeBron approved all off-season moves last summer and that the FO runs everything by him, tells all the guys involved in trade talks that LeBron doesn't value them. That can't help the team dynamic in the locker room.

Thought it was only the Stephenson and Rondo signing because he has a history with those two.
I'd say that they can take a look at the Celtics young core who are basically all on the trade block for AD this summer (Ainge apparently said everyone will be available).
If they can continue playing without having Sarah McLachlan sad love songs being piped over the team's PA system 24/7, then we can too.
The season is often segmented in several compartments. The time from 12/15 (when summer FAs are eligible to be traded) to the trade deadline is about to pass. Then all you have to focus on is making the playoffs. Singular goal.
For your own preservation and future earning, it would behoove everyone of the YUTES to play their best, circumstances notwithstanding. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Honestly, I miss Mitch's silence and dry non-answers. When deals like the Ariza and Gasol trades happened, you were blindsided by it because we rarely had front office leaks. The CP3 trade came out of nowhere too. Magic's front office loves the mic and broadcasting our intentions for the world to see.
