Love it! Looks like the LC500 and FRS gave birth. The side profile is drop dead gorgeous. I was going to go practical with an SUV for my next car but dude... _________________ KOBE

Yes it’s a nice car but it is nothing practical. This thing will have a price tag of 60+
AN employee at Toyota Mexico revealed the car however we still don't know its specs and interior that reveal will be January 14
So do you like the final looks 999?
Spec rumors I’m seeing are 385hp, 0-60 4.4, 50/50 weight distribution
Yes I like it. The motor is a B583O01C from bmw. Suspension is all BMW. I think this car will handle better than the cayman
The only things I don’t like the about the car:
The cockpit isn’t driver focused like the MK4
It’s shorter in length than the MK4
The absence of the spoiler. I thought a nice aero wing would look great on this
It has digital dashboard. I’m not really a big fan of those
The rear diffuser could use a quad exhaust setup. Make it stand out from the FRS
No 2+2 seating configuration.
No manual transmission option but I think that might change in future revisions
Lastly the horsepower rating is rumored to be around 385. I feel that is low for a car that will start around 60+

I was hoping the new Supra would be a GTR fighter with a $100k price tag. But it’s clear this is for a diff market. Right in line with the Porsche Cayman. And i think it could be best in class there
If Toyota wanted to sell Supra's, putting in the same price range as the GTR is not the way to do it....GTR sales in the US have dropped to 538 sold last year. And forget about putting it in the NSX range, they only sold 170 of them the entire year in 2018 in the US.
GTR sales are poor because they haven’t really changed the looks since it came out. It’s old.
Cars like this aren’t for profit, they’re flagship models to keep customers interested in the brand. They will likely not sell enough of this gen Supra to turn a profit. So might as well make it a supercar instead of a sports car imo.
So it looks like it's starting under 50K if this holds true. I knew ZERO chance it was going to be priced significantly over the RCF. That 80K number made literally no sense. _________________ KOBE

Those numbers sound about right to me. Cayman fighter

Yep...a LOT of people were grossly overestimating it's sticker price. _________________ KOBE
I guess those rumors of a 4 cylinder base model were false. I wonder if all 3 models have the same engine?
No it’s not false. The B48 engine 4 cylinder will be offered in Europe for now. I will assume they migrate over here in later years. At the end of this production line I will assume that’s this Supra will be a lot like the production line of the jag F type where the 8 cylinder was introduced first, than the six than the 4 eliminating the 6. This Supra will have a mid level 6 cylinder and than we might get a beefy 6 six cylinder. Maybe the S engine with bigger turbos.
Toyota is gonna capture the BMW fan boys as well as the FF fan boys with this thing. the B58 is highly tunable and puts out amazing numbers. I expect a lot of Supra sleepers in the next coming years pushing 600-700 HP
I’m still searching for an MK4 myself. I’m still old school.
i'm disappoint at the styling. it's too corky for my liking. MK4 Supra aged extremely well, i don't see the same with the new design. the interior reeks BMW, especially the LCD display on the dashboard. pricing is also debatable. if i'm in the market for a $50k + reliable sports coupe and still being a Toyota fanboy, i'd look past this and go with a slightly used Lexus RCF.
There probably would be no Supra revival if they didn't partner with BMW and release this shared platform car. The sales numbers would not make sense for them considering these types of cars are halo cars and not really something that makes the manufacturer money if any.

hmm i think Toyota will definitely make money off this thing. it is capturing buyers from the euro bmw market as well as the American market. its capturing those who don't want a corvette or a jag but cant afford a cayman or 911.
