Walton said Rajon Rondo still has swelling in his hand, so he won’t play until that goes down. Original timeline from Nov. 15 was 4-5 weeks, and it’s Dec. 8 |
Damn, that's unfortunate. We need his leadership when Bron's off the floor. I can't stand it when Lance is running things out there. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

So when they said 4-5 weeks you figured he'd be back in 3? _________________ Not a legend |

I'd have rather seen 4 weeks than 5, and tomorrow makes 4 weeks. Isn't going to happen. I just hope it doesn't go past 5. |

Yes I posted this in the injury thread earlier today. |
From the report:
Quote: |
"We've got great doctors, we've got a great training staff and he's constantly working with them, we travel a hand specialist that he works with on the road," Walton said. "But when players are as good as he is and have been for that long, it's because they work really hard. So he wants to be on the court as much as possible."
|
Well, for the ones ranting about the incompetence of our staff... |

^what I took from Luke's comment is that Rondo pushed it a bit hard, got some swelling, got it drained, now they have to wait and see. |

I don't mind him sitting now so Lonzo can get some extended run early in the season.
Rondo will save his legs and be ready to go in the money games coming up later this season. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I agree. And I hope he doesn't rush back, even though I know he wants to.
We don't need him going down to injury again later this season. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I'd prefer to hold onto Rondo this season than let Lance run anymore point. |

We have two people who organizes offense on this team, and that's Lebron and Rondo. BI can fill in. Because of this we need Rondo on this team so the second unit can be semi-organized and not look like ass.
Rondo won't be traded this year. |

Caruso is good enough for spot duties as well. _________________ .

Only Rondo does it with the pound the ball, dribble, dribble 90’s style of offense. Something people downgrade Ingram for doing. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Excellent! A few more games and Rondo will be back ... to control the second unit (LANCE) so they don't make as many boneheaded plays (LANCE) |

Rajon Rondo (broken hand) has been assigned to the South Bay Lakers for a rehab stint. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

is this just to practice....or will he actually play a game? I am definitely tuning in of Rondo suits up for South Bay. |

It is basically very unlikely that the Lakers are doing this so he can play in a G League game.. they want him to practice which is different then participating in a G League game, this isn’t the same as DeMarcus Cousins who might actually suit up in the G League to get back his basketball conditioning after a year long lay off |

I've missed him calmly analyzing defenses and setting up plays. Ingram, Lonzo, and Lance don't know how to break down defenses yet and we've missed that with the second unit a lot. My wish is that Lonzo becomes more cerebral with his playmaking and more of a leader heading forward (but fixing his shot is the number 1 priority). |

I wouldn't mind Rondo being the in-game coach that set ups up the offense even from the bench. |
