Nope. Not with Luke as the coach; Magic as the PoBO, and with LeBron as the solo "A" list player. |

Not if we take another long 2.
As long as we only take threes and layups and dunks, we might have a chance. |

Are you asking through the calendar year (Dec 31, 2018) or season (April 9, 2019)? _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Maybe if we wheeled the corpse of Kobe back. Then we’d never lose again. |

I'll go further and say the Lakers will be above .500 before New Years Eve.
LeBron's going to punch people in practice Jordan style to make them play better. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

We will be two to four above .500 at the end of the month and won't look back. |

On the Real, the interesting thing is that even after this disjointed start to the season, it;s exceedingly likely that the Lakers will be the #7 playoff seed as early as this Saturday. That's how jumbled up things are. The Lakers benefit from other Western power squads also shooting themselves in the foot.
Friday:
Celtics beat the Jazz, dropping them to 5-7
TPups beat the Kings, dropping them to 6-6
Saturday:
Bucks beat the Clippers dropping them to 6-6
Lakers bet the Kings sending them to 6-7
The Lakers have more conference wins than the Clippers and Pelicans so win the 6-6 tie break for the 7th seed. Starting saturday, everything is about progressing towards home court advantage in the 1st round. Amazing after this start... _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. Call me crazy but i actually want the Kings to do well this year because if the Celtics get Barrett or Zion they are gonna get way ahead of us in championship count. |

I feel where you're coming from, but a frontcourt of Ayton & Zion that the Lakers would have to deal with for the next 15 years is MUCH more worrisome. _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read in my life- It's a miracle I didn't develop a brain aneurysm reading it, and I should throw my laptop in the ocean for fear some russian hacker designed virus might not only infect my laptop, but somehow infect me like the movie tron or something...I have been enlisted by the Mayo clinic for a study because I am the first person who actually got dumber by reading something, and they want to study my brain patterns in the aftermath. _________________ Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y'alls neighborhood.

The Lakers lost to Denver in the preseason... made adjustments and became one of two teams to beat them this year.
We lost to Portland in the opener... then beat them on the road for the first time in years.
We lost to Minnesota... then managed to overcome MVP quality Derrick Rose to beat them.
We lost to the Spurs twice (barely) but then addressed the problem by signing Chandler.
Houston is struggling since the fight... we are slowly but surely improving.
I don't want to jinx it, but if you are paying attention most signs are very favorable... and the scary thing for the rest of the league is many of our youngsters have been underachieving so far.
I see GSW, Toronto, Celtics, maybe Denver when they get IT and MPJ as being better... but I wouldn't be shocked if we became the fifth best team this season. If Boogie doesn't recover we might even have a shot of upsetting the Warriors. |

Good stuff. Big picture, signs are pointing to the Lakers figuring it out. They just need Ingram, Kuzma and Ball to continue to develop and keep ascending into really good players in this league.
Spurs games, those are wins with Chandler and some free throw shooting.
@Portland win is impressive. One of the NBA’s top home court advantages and Lakers finally won in their house of horrors against a pretty good team.
Denver is that team that looks like they will be racking up a ton of wins this season, so that was a great win too.
No complaints so far, only the spurs games really sting. Even 3 point shooting has been ok so far. 5-6 after all that is good enough and now time to make a run in the win column. |
