Check out his stats with PHX, he got a few 10/10 games... this signing could be like Detroit signing Rasheed in 2004 to lift them to the title. |
You ruin everything. |
Nah, just excited... I think him being in a winning situation now will bring more focus into his game, with PHX he was just mentoring guys like Ayton. |

His best game this season was 14p 11r vs the.... Lakers who lacked depth at center
|
He’s been effective though this is why this signing can end up being huge, he can still play and Impact games. |
Big difference between that and lifting us to a title, IG. |
Did not mean the signing lifting us to a title but we will have a better team now and a better chance to succeed in the playoffs.. My bad. |
If KCP and Svi start hitting their threes and the core continues to improve... I now believe anything is possible... including competing for the title. That interior defense has been the difference between 6-2 and 3-5.
Hopefully McGee and Tyson can remain healthy. |

Good pickup! He'll definitely help us on the glass and we can now put an end to the Kuzma at the 5 experiment, hopefully. |

Now we don't have to worry about Mo Wagner trying to shutdown the paint and he can just ease into the NBA playing on the perimeter. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Suns and Chandler have had a mutual agreement on a buyout on his $13M-plus expiring deal for some time now, but Chandler needed a landing spot. Chandler found it with Lakers, who need size, and as @espn_macmahon says, will welcome his locker room presence. |

This is part of the reason -- as I and lots others reported over the summer -- that LA was never panicked about their center situation. Buyouts were inevitable. This is earlier than expected, but still. |

This is amazing timing!! We get him early in the season when we need him the most. Moe Wagner can now spend more time in the g-league if needs to and it takes some pressure off of everyone. I wonder if Ariza is next |

I just talked with Tyson in the last few days about playing at home (LA), playing with LeBron, etc. Both were dreams of his but timing was never right. Getting to do both now to round out his career? If Lakers want it to happen, it's as good as done.Ric Bucher added,

The Lakers are expected to be at the front of the line to sign Tyson Chandler once he clears waivers, league sources say

Small ball for this offense would've been fine if they had a guy who can play post defense, block shots, rebound, run up and down the court or 3 shoots or all of the above. Beas and Kuz can hit the 3 but Beas is struggling with his J and Kuz isn't strong enough to guard Centers in the post and can't box out, not good with block shots or help defense. His shooting isn't enough to make up for his weakness at the 5. J Dub can is a decent shot blocker and can run up and down the court but isn't strong enough to guard Centers. Julius would've been decent in that role if he were still here. Mo who is a under sized Center could fill that role next year. And hopefully it works out.

This is a huge acquisition.
Fills a huge need.
He he guaranteed to clear waivers?
Fills a huge hole that is bigger than it appears for
McGee is the only true big man that can play. |

So, in order for another team to claim him, they have to foot the entire bill? |

That’s my understanding of it. And i don’t see anyone doing that and neither does he that’s why they had the deal with the Lakers in hand before the buyout was agreed to |

So only the Kings can do it. Maybe they want to ruin our chances |

For some reason, I thought he was born in 86. But just looked him up, he's 82. Older than Lebron. Hope he has some left in the tank. |

Sure, he might be a shell of his former self, but given the backup role he will have on this team...there will always be a defensive big out there.
I like, always have rim protection. |
