There was an article explaining this about 3 weeks ago
Knee bruise or bone bruise is a general term that is used to describe a wide range of severity - kind of like the way "ankle sprain" is used for everything from "stretched to far" to "partial tear" to "fully torn"
In Mo's case, he had a partial micro fracture of a bone in the knee area.
A displaced break or a break all the way through the bone is (according to that article) referred to as a break
But a micro fracture is apparently just a more severe bone bruise.
I'm sure there's a few MD's on here that could clarify that - all I know about it is what was in that article _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

I believe Mo can be the backup 5 when all is said and done. Nothing major maybe 10-15 minutes a night. And they way he plays he could be considered small ball but can also play bigger. Love the potential there. Lebron/Kuz/Beasley can rotate center for 10-15 minutes a night. |

Well, he is 6'11" and 240, so I agree. He shall do the job. |

"Done" will likely be a while. SF's were pushing him around in Summer League. He needed (still needs?) serious time in the gym. I doubt his base is better after a summer without leg work, but it's conjecture until we see him playing. |

Watching last nights game, I was thinking a healthy Mo could have helped us out. Lets see how he looks when the rust comes off, but if he excels, he could be the tag team big man with McGee, and that could be one of the missing pieces in games like the Portland game. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

I wonder if season-ending microfracture surgery was another possible treatment option for him. Maybe it wasn't severe enough to justify. Hopefully. |

We need Mo, but it will take time for him to be a steady contribute. Barely played in summer league, no pre season, and pressure to contribute solid minutes right away is a tall order. _________________ The most important shot in basketball. |

There's a problem with Mo's thyroid.
What's wrong with it?
-We can't find it. We're gonna have to perform a thyroid search.
(Johnny Dangerously joke)
I would NOT bet money on whether there's an actual injury to his knee at this point. I would maintain the same distance to that bet as I would to a spitting cobra. I have a sinking feeling that that, uh............bruise (wink), is gonna persist for an indeterminate amount of time. It's the bruise of all bruises. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

I agree just having a mobile center with size will help. Any ideas as to when this guy is going to play? |

Don't expect much from Mo when he returns. He didn't get to scrimmage till today, has never played a game at NBA speed as of yet, and has yet to step foot on an NBA court.
Expecting him to help early on, even in games like last night is a set up for disappointment.
Zubac at this current time is more of a help than Mo, and Luke isn't playing him either because he's obsessed with the idea of Kuzma at the 5 like D'Antoni was obsessed with Wesley Johnson at the 4, like Byron Scott was obsessed with Ryan Kelly at the 3. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Can't wait for him to be cleared. Ideally, you wouldn't expect a rookie to be in the rotation, but he could be a big help for the team as a pick and pop option. Imagine he and Kuz playing together on the second unit Hurry back, Moe!
