Breakdown of some Doncic defense and passing: https://twitter.com/frontofficeeye/status/1046398216323977217
He had 16 points on 83% TS%, 6 boards, 2 assists (to 4 tovs) and 3 blocks in his 30 minute debut. Not bad. _________________ Under New Management

He is gonna be fun to watch, especially once he gets a couple of off-seasons in NBA weight rooms.

An efficient 26/6/3 last night, though he had six turnovers. When he hits 3s at a good clip it opens up everything else for him.

He looks really good. Why can't our young guys look this good? Have we drafted the wrong guys in the lottery? Do we just suck at developing young guys?

The draft is generally a crapshoot except for the #1 pick (and see Fultz), development for each guy is different, and the Lakers haven't been great at putting their young players in the best situations from coach Byron Scott to the constant roster turnover to Magic's hype routine.
Specifically with Doncic, he's only 19 years old and is the reigning MVP of the second best basketball league in the world - unlike a lot of one and done kids, he's NBA ready from day one. Ayton and Bagley could be seen as having more upside, I guess, but Doncic being a good NBA player shouldn't surprise anyone. _________________ Under New Management
