Looking forward to the preseason and season. Seems a lot of teams got to feeling a bit cocky when we were down. Clippers. Nuggets. Kings? Ha! Well, we're back and time to set it straight.
Can’t recall being so excited about the preseason, probably last time when we got Payton and Malone.
Mine was when Bynum returned healthy to finally play next to Gasol
Was that the 2010-2011 season?
Nah. 2008-2009. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

Might be a bit more bad blood between these two teams than usual, given that the Nuggs made a serious push for LeBron this past summer. Needless to say they were rejected.
Probably won't see the full brunt of it till the regular season starts.

I had no idea Nuggz wanted LeBron, wow.. that’s new to me.
Looking forward to seeing BI and Kuz and what kind of progress they’ve made. Also looking forward to seeing Lebron. As long as there are no injuries and our guys can knock off some rust it’ll be a good day.

News to most people. That just shows how serious of a contender they were to get him.

Didn’t he get injured during that season and miss a dozen games? It was against the Grizzlies when he got the injury if I’m not mistaken.
Yeah, he got injured during that season too. It may have even been against the Grizzlies both times. But the first time was in 2007-2008 before the Pau trade, which is why Pau became the starting C immediately. At the time, it was believed that Bynum would be out for awhile, but definitely not for the season, though that was eventually what happened. So what the poster was referring to was that following season (2008-2009) because that was when we finally got to see he and Pau play together as the starting front line. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Definitely would have been intriguing to see those guys together but it never came a reality cause the Lakers already knew Bynum’s knee was shot... I get what Gellollo is saying, it could have been a nice dynamic pairing.

Huh? We did see it. Bynum started and played next to Pau from 2008-2009 up until he was traded. He had stretches where he was out or wasn't 100%, but we saw he and Pau share the floor together plenty during the years they were together. The only year they never got the chance was 2007-2008 when Pau was traded there mid season. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. I know, what I meant is that the pairing never became a long term goal for the FO cause of Bynum’s knee.. that was basically my point, I clearly remember both of them together, they had very good moments together.. that’s essentially why I said “what if” in terms of how good the duo could have been if Bynum stayed healthy.

Bynum was out for the season (fractured patella, landed on Odom's foot) because, iirc, he had rough bits on the underside of his patella that kept irritating his knee and causing it to re-swell. His knee would seemingly look good and as soon as he played, it would re-swell. I think it swelled after a flight as well. They didn't detect the issue any time soon, of course. That's about what you can expect with Laker knee injuries for the past 15 yrs. Remember when Malone wasn't happy with the training staff's diagnosis and treatment of his injury in 04, causing him to seek outside opinion. That was a serious injury, though. Similar injuries to Pryz and Mutombo looked much worse, Bynum was lucky to come back at all considering his knee issues in general. Those other two looked like their knees were broken in half.
I recorded that one:
Got Malone's too. Scott Williams' fat butt sucked his knee into it:
