I'd say just send a scout to see if he's got anything and then see if things could move forward.
Wouldn't take it too seriously but if he had anything left in the tank that would be a bonus.

Can't believe he's only 30. Seems like a lifetime ago when he and Dwight were considered the top two centers in the league. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Tyson Chandler seems like a good bet to come at some point this season, maybe the Lakers like him more then Bynum. |

If any team was willing to take a chance on him, he wouldn't play. He'd be like Kendrick Perkins the last five years. He'd get signed for brief stints, never see the court, and get released. I wouldn't be surprised if they at least took a look since he used to be Luke's teammate, but considering his attitude problems and lack of love for the game, it probably wouldn't be worth it to have someone like him around. If the motivating factor in this comeback attempt really is money, he could become a problem if he isn't getting playing time. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. People forget he was only 17 when he was drafted, he came straight from High School. |

As much as I'd want him back, I don't see it. Does he still have the same agent? IIRC, he's worse than Mintz. |

Trust me, there are many fans who forget his age, considering he left the NBA so early, it seems like he’s way older then he really is... that’s because his last relevant season was in 2012. |

If he can play for 15-20 minutes a game, that is good enough for me. |

Bad culture fit. Bad attitude. Lazy.
He could never guard he perimeter and would not be able to switch in today’s league. Not with his knees. |

Only an idiot would look at this guy.
He was done years ago.
Bad knees + bad attitude
Had one decent year - like 10 years ago.
He must need cash. He never had any passion or desire to play.

Pretty interesting. He would once again be playing with the best player in the world. And instead of being talked about being traded for a declining Jason Kidd, he ends up playing with a 20 year old version of Jason Kidd, but he himself is still only 30 years old. It would be quite and interesting come back story. What hasn't been mentioned is his similarities to Brook Lopez, in regards to him being an injury prone back to the basket 7 footer who changed his game for the modern NBA. That wouldn't be bad for a minimum contract. A lot of us wanted Lopez back for the room exception. |

How and when did Bynum change his game for the modern NBA? Are you saying that because he shot a few threes in that brief clip? _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. He's definitely worth a look. A low post threat that can score with either hand and good rim-protecting instincts. |

He looks like he's in terrific shape. But unless he grew new knees, what's the point? Keep your health, invest wisely, and enjoy life, Drew.
BTW, he never struck me as the type of guy who wastes money. I doubt he's broke. |

I'd take a look at him also.
You figure if Boogie is worth 5 million, then Andrew is worth a minimum contract.
He sees how deflated salaries are right now, so maybe he actually wants to play. It's possible at 30, that he's finally matured a little
However, if he started the conversation with some multi year nonsense I'd slam the door in his face and head back home. |
