Because I haven’t seen most of our players play with something truly on the line yet.
We have the best player in the world and playoffs rondo
I didn't know we got Kevin Durant.
Also, since I project that we'd be the seventh seed, I foresee a first round exit, although it it may go 6 or 7 games. The West isn't a cakewalk like the East folks.
KD is not the best player. He needs his big daddy Draymond to show some attitude and 2 Hof shooters besides to be fmvp

Kd aint the best on his team
Stop it!
If KD were a Laker, you'd say he's the best in the world.
I'm just echoing the same sentiments I always have since the 2017 finals. I do have Steph @ 3 however although I'm tempted to put Steph over LeBron due to Lebron's disappearing act on defense, which I do hope comes back even partially for the sake of the Lakers.

Well your signature gives away anything about u being logical.

I'll never like LeBron, but I'll support my Lakers.
Also, I'll never excuse LeBron for defensive lapses.
GS HOU and OKC i see finishing higher.
Every other playoff team seems close to one another
BUT i also don't see us being a well oiled machine. I think we'll have a bunch of tough losses but doubt we get blown out more than a handful of games assuming no injuries
Remember a couple years ago...didn't we lose like over 30 games by double digits?
Yikes that was brutal
KD plays defense and is a better player on offense.
To the guy who said look at my signature, if you've been on this board long you would have already known my position on that issue and all the whys, so I won't get into that.
Now for a summary analysis. (LeBron at 33, KD at 29)

KD without 3 Hof teammates, 2 great role players and Hof coach - chocker
I never said that KD was better than LeBron All-Time (even though he could end up being with a few more rings).
I'm just saying that KD has been better than LeBron since 2017. Sometimes you need the right coach(Phil for Shaq), teammate (D-Wade for LeBron) or system to push you.
Theat Head-to-Head argument is something LeBron stans use against Kobe, unless you guys think that LeBron is better than Kobe... In that case this we'll never come to agreement on this or anything when it comes to basketball. _________________

Again he's not even the best on his team. Mr I don't want to be a leader
I am sure a lot of people agree with you, but it is definitely a minority opinion. The consensus easily considers Durant the 2nd best player in the NBA behind only Lebron. I personally would take Kawhi over both of them....which is even more of a minority opinion.
Kawhi before the injury was the better player but either way you better have Kawhi top 5 _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

KD is not the best in the world. I buy that he’s top 3, but #1 belongs to LeBron and this season will serve as a reminder of that.
I would say Davis because unlike Lebron, he plays great defense. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Now, to determine who is better, don't you have to put a value on each category?
It's not like each of those categories have the same value. Also, don't you want to use some per36 and other advanced stats?
None of these kids have played in an nba game that means anything. And when they did (Denver game for revenge on Murray?). Randle and IT were the ones that stepped up 😂😂. Right now the west is wide open after GSW and HOU. They could easily win 53 games and be the 3 seed and easily win 45 games and be on the outside looking in. The west isn’t loaded but it’s deep. any night you can get beat let’s talk playoffs when they actually clinch a playoff spot. I’m taking nothing for granted.

Funny you bring up Murray and Denver. With the way the Vets on the team. There is zero chance of a guy like Murray clowning anyone on the team. Big reason why I like Rondo and Lance. They’re crazy like Artest
I only fear the Warriors in the West. HOU gotta see us in the playoffs they got worse
I think it's impossible for us to beat the Warriors.
SA would be TOUGH since we have nobody to slow down Aldridge and they have the better coach.
OKC is a little more do-able. Everyone else in the West I'd consider US the favorite.
Quote:
McGee put the clamps on the Spurs’ top scorer, LaMarcus Aldridge, whom Kerr calls the most dangerous low-post scorer in the league. Aldridge had eight points in the first half.
On the funnest play of the game, Aldridge got the ball on the low block and gave McGee a head fake. McGee is a jumper, and jumpers jump, but this time McGee stayed down. Another head fake. McGee stayed down. Another fake. Still down. Finally, Whiplash Aldridge went up with a shot, and McGee jumped and swatted it.
“It was very key on LaMarcus tonight that JaVale wasn’t going for the shot fakes and putting (Aldridge) at the free-throw line,” Warriors forward Draymond Green said. “I don’t think (Aldridge) ever really found a rhythm because of that.”
On another play, McGee, on a switch, was defending Spurs guard Patty Mills near the three-point line. A death matchup, clown time for the poor 7-foot defender. Mills juked, then drove the lane. McGee, a foot taller, stayed with Mills through the key and forced him to pass.

And everyone else is generally untested. We have no idea if someone will Derozan the playoffs. Hopefully not, but we just don’t know.
And so unless they have changed the playoff format to a 2-man game, I’m still curious to see who rises to the occasion and who succumbs to it.
DMitchell and Tatum were also untested. I understand the skepticism, but I think the writing is on the wall that we can be a really dangerous team given Lebron + Vets + youth potential to handle anything thrown our way. If anything I think Luke will have challenges making adjustments with a whole new roster in 7 game series, but that is to be expected.

I don’t disagree we can be dangerous, if the young kids step up like Mitchell or Tatum did. I just don’t know if they will since they have yet to do that in any meaningful game. There’s just no history to draw upon.
FWIW, I didn’t know Tatum or Mitchell would be able to step up their games in the playoffs at this time last year either.

Durant plays less minutes too and I did say it's a summary.
Just because Durant didn't (have to) do as much heavy-lifting as LeBron, doesn't mean he's not better. Also, I'm of the opinion that LeBron does indeed pad his stats and doesn't get his teammates involved in the game in anything other than catch and shoot. He now only plays defense when he feels he can get a highlight play. I do hope with that the Lakers he does sacrifice his body and set those off ball screens like the current Warriors or even Nash and Stockton (because that's our system).
The fact that Durant is more effective off ball means although his stats may suffer, his teammates are allowed to do more and thus feel more a part of the game. This is one reason why the Warriors do average so many assists per game as a team. History shows that type of passing game usually defeat a LeBron-led team...
Did I mention that Durant plays consistent defense and LeBron basically doesn't try anymore?
Anyway, on topic, I'd fear the Warriors, they're an unselfish team with lots of talent that they don't have to rely on, since they just play smart like the Spurs. A healthy fear is good, otherwise they'd just demoralize your team. _________________
