Guys everyone matures
Dwight gets a bad rap I think because of what he could have been if he didn't make his decision to leave Orlando. I think he has good intentions but sometimes his immaturity gets in the way
The guy played 81 games last year averaged 16, 12 and 1 block. He moved around really well, with improved jump shot
He was let go because of need to clear cap space. He was moved from Atlanta in order to clear cap space as well.
If you have a culture in place with strong personalities I can Dwight can thrive.
If the warriors can get Javale Mcgee to succeed and kick his reputation, I think Lebron, Magic, Rob, Luke can get Dwight to be successful. |

I'd rather have Lopez back, if possible. |
I'm cool with Brook also. His rebounding is trash for his size, but he shot respectably from 3 and really can get buckets on anybody. We have rebounding galore now even from our guards (Hart, Lonzo, Rondo, Lance).
Really would love some rim protection though. |

Lopez provides 3 pt shooting but can be cold for long stretches. He can box out and block some shots. He cant board much or post up. Im not a huge lopez fan and dwight provides rebounding and physical play aong with decent D. |

Can be a beast defensively with enough scorers. So many options. Mcgee is not a starter in this league unless you plan to tank. At least not on a playoff team. |
Both of those lineups look really good...
Or
Ball
Ingram
LBJ
Kuz
D12
Bench MOB=Sick
Rondo
kcp
stephenson
?
Mcgee |
So many options with dwight playing the Tristian Thompson role |

He still can put 17/12 easily and be a presence on defense.
Dwight is a good player.
Not as good as he think he is, but good, still.
I would give him a chance.
Rondo, Lebron, Lonzo, Hart and Dwight are all beasts on rebounds. That can be a key factor. |

He’s still very good but he is not a good teammate. Not sure how the chemistry would be |

LeBron, Dwight, LaVar, Rondo, Lance, and Lonzo and Kuzma constantly going at each other what could go wrong? |

Kind of torn, but he still rebounds and plays defense really well. He is a flake though and he burnt us in the past. I’d probably put him in the category of PG13, DMC, LMA and all the other guys who had a chance to be/stay lakers and thought they could do better elsewhere...they are dead to me.
For the minimum though, if he was signed, I wouldn’t get mad since our FO is different and the team and players are all different. But I don’t like him. |

I mean, we were ready to hand him the keys to the kingdom with supermax money and he bolted for what he thought were greener pastures. Now he's back for the minimum ... lesson learned. Helping us compete for a ring would wash away a lot of that bad blood at least in my eyes. |

Weirdest off-season ever!
Brook's ability to stretch the floor is pretty valuable.
In the open floor, Dwight is better at running the lanes.
Shrug - Let the circus commence! |

You guys are serious about Howard actually changing and accepting his role aren't you? He has spent his entire career being a knucklehead. Every team that signed him has "known" this time it will be different. And then seems surprised when it wasn't.
I would swear that some of these comments about of Howard being "a valuable piece if he would just accept his role" has been cut and pasted by every fan base he has disappointed.
And maybe the McGee redemption example needs to be slowed down a bit. He played 9.5 mpg in GS. And still led the league in stupid plays. He is a nice energizer for short spurts against certain lineups. but not a consistent starter playing significant mpg. |

the good teammate issue is very subjective
Jordan, Kobe, Zach Randolph, Lebron, Cousins, Russell Westbrook, EVEN Paul George all get bad teammate rep
lets be honest
to blame Dwight Howard for this roster failing is ridiculous
Nash
Kobe
MWP
Paul Gasol
Dwight Howard
Coach: Mike Brown |

But not a better rebounder or post defender. Everybody we've signed this off-season is a good defender - KCP, Rondo, Lance (you can argue Javale is more of a shot blocker than straight-up defender, but he's athletic and mobile). I think that's where we're going with this. I'm assuming Kuz is our starting 4 now, and he isn't exactly locking anyone up.
Our team is deep as hell right now. Wow. |

Howard says he wants to play with Lebron
He never said he wanted to play with Kobe
if Lebron can get his teammates to wear matching suits (even JR freaking Smith)
I think he can get Howard to buy into a specific role... |

Lonzo Ball / Rajon Rondo
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope / Josh Hart
Brandon Ingram / Lance Stephenson
LeBron James / Kyle Kuzma
Dwight Howard / JaVale McGee
Screw it... let's do it. |

so lets sign another nonshooter when you're the worst shooting team and have already signed 3 nonshooters so far. And a horrible lockerroom guy to boot |
