The rockets are playing the tail end of a back-to-back on the road. Yao played 41 minutes last night. T-Mac is out...
Lakers: 105
Rockets: 94
Kobe: 40/8/5
Luke: 20/5/8

Are you sure that T-mac will still be out for our game?
If so, we just have to watch the perimeters since Alston, Head and Battier are all shooters ...
If T-Mac is playing, then we will have some serious treat ...
I hope Kwame and Bynum have learnt how to guard Yao without getting into foul trouble too early ... |

It will certainly help that Yao played 41 minutes last night, if he didn't play that long and Tmac was back, we should worry because if Yao isn't tired and Tmac is playing, the Rockets can beat anyone in the league.
But with Yao playing last night for 41 minutes and Tmac not looking like he's going to make the game, the Lakers have enough to win this one and Bynum and Kwame can hopefully contain Yao. |

Houston Rockets are way overrated. Against .500 or above teams, the Rockets are 1-6 or something ridiculous, and that's with or without T-mac, who is also way overrated IMHAO.
Lakers blow them out 114 to 89.
I'm going to the game! |

Oh by the way, Yao is also overrated. Against an athletic or decent big man, Yao's stats dramatically drop. He posted 38 and 18 against undersized Warriors frontline. Bynum and Kwame will take Yao to school tonight. To an American big man school that is. |

Oh come on ...
T-Mac is (or was) the 2nd best offensive SG in the NBA after Kobe. Watch him play in Orlando and almost always single-handedly win the game for them. Or watch that 13 points magic he did a couple years back. I really enjoy his rivalry with Kobe. It's so sad that his back is giving him so much trouble now.
Yao is definitely the best centre in the NBA right now. He has an unbelievably tall frame yet he moves so naturally, unlike the likes of Manute Bol or Shawn Bradley. He also has that very soft shooting touch. He will dominate the department in the NBA for years to come and I hope by then we can enjoy his rivalry with Bynum. |

Boo-hoo...cry me a river!! T-mac is a perrenial loser and a whiny baby!! He left Toronto to become "the man", proclaimed a playoff series over and then lost in 7, quit on his Orlando team and demanded a trade. He's made countless negative comments about Kobe and I can't stand him!! He's finished....back injuries are forever...see ya T-wac!! _________________ ....and a new dynasty begins? |

Lakers win, of course, but the real winner is everybody in America. Because it's a nationally-televised game, nobody will have to listen to Clyde Drexler's idiotic ramblings. |

I believe Bill Walton and Jon Barry are both going to be in the booth for ESPN in this game. Be careful what you wish for. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

No one can say for sure if BrokeBack will play until the game starts. His back could feel better on any given day.
BTW: In the NBA we have the position of Center not Centre.

Some of the Rockets may have tired legs tonight. Minutes played from last night's close game with Golden State:
Yao Ming, 41
Luther Head, 40
Rafer Alston, 46 |

I didn't expect someone to be a Yao apoligist in a Lakers forum. We HAVE THE BEST CENTER in couple of years, and his name is ANDREW BYNUM. In fact, Bynum outplayed Yao when he matched up with him. |

Yao in my opinion is not the best center in the league, but definatley Top 5. It's not Yao's fault people expect alot from him. The only reason why he's overrated is because he's compared to Shaq and he plays nothing like Shaq combined with him being voted over Shaq on the all-star teams. Contrary to popular belief China's votes do not account for all the votes, otherwise Wang Zhi Zhi would've been the only 3rd string center in NBA history to have started an All-star game.
Anyways if we can stop the 3's and make Yao Run we will win against Team Yao.

Lakers played an ALL around game against the ROckets last time to eek out a win ... Lakers better not look past the Rockets or we'll see another loss. |

We need to win this game...if we don't we drop to 6th in the conference.
Not to mention our last 3 game's weak 4th quarters. |

These are HBA's keys to the game tonight. Ill try, repeat try to limit my number of posts tonight. Thats why im giving keys to the game, and then my postgame insights.
1) Play the matchups:
Its okay to start Vlad or Cook tonight. But, when Juwon Howard comes in, it might be best to go with Turiaf to guard him to make sure he doesnt abuse the other two
2) Defend the perimeter
They love their perimeter shots on that team. And they hit them well too.
If Smush is lackadaisical, take him out early and sit him down in favor of the more active and energetic farmar.
Limit Luther Head's 3 point opportunities. He is shooting 50% from there.
3) On offense, it will be difficult to feed Kwame in the post for anything other than cut passes, etc. He will have difficulty scoring on Yao.
Therefore, feed Kobe in the post. Battier is too slow to contain him and the others are too short to contest his shots. Feed him early and often and exploit the mismatches.
4) Defend the pick and roll well and keep the energy high.
Like I said, play the matchups.
Farmar vs. Head/Lucas
Turiaf vs. Howard
I think Vlad and Cook can handle Battier offensively.
5) If Kobe is going to defend one of the quicker guys...i.e. Head, etc.
Make sure to cover him well.
6) Keep on Alston. He had a bad shooting night last game. He may not have the same tonight. Cant take that for granted.
