Yeesh, 5pm? That can't be a good sign. |
Its right after FOX NFL Sunday. So its primetime for the east coast. |
It's up against the tail end of the Packers and Falcons on NBC 4. |
Not sure what you mean.....but 5PM PT is 8PM ET....the NFL game on NBC would still be in the 1st quarter by the time the show finished at 6PM PT or 9PM ET. The reason why they put those shows after the NFL on FOX is to get a ratings bump from all the people with Nielsen Boxes that left it on the channel. |
I fast forwarded the schedule to Sunday. It shows The Orville 8:00 to 9:00 pm the Packers ( a t ) Falcons ending 8:30 pm |
I checked the TV guide and apparently they are showing the show twice.
Once at 5PM after the NFL on FOX and then a re-airing at 8PM. This is on the Pacific Time Zone. I would assume the Eastern Time Zone only gets one airing since its already in a Primetime slot the first airing. |

OK. It's up against two proven poplars, football and the Emmy's. That's a indication TPTB don't have much faith in the show. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Just learned about this show, but I haven't watched it yet. I found this little gem recently called Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. If you enjoy those outrageous real estate shows, then you should enjoy this parody of them. Probably doesn't have a long shelf life though. |

Watched it. Meh. It's gritty and also mostly goes through the person's life and it's not overly interesting, imo. Mostly, it's not looking to be grandiose like GoT, or compelling. Some painful facts of life, and to me, it's missing real inspiration.
The Orville is OK, but I think the sound needs to be improved as well as obeying at least a _little_ _bit_ to real physics. |

Edit: Looks like Mockingbird will be away for at least another season. Sigh.

The second ep was a lot better. I guess it's a huge hit, which doesn't bode well for a Mockingbird return.
OFF TOPIC: Does anyone know what glasses Joe is wearing on season 4 of Halt and Catch Fire? I need those. |

It was better. Had a Star Trek getting the better of the opposition theme. Difference was it wasn't the captain doing the out thinking.
The zoo, we used to keep animals for entertainment mention, was something I noted. Giving reality TV in exchange for Ed and Kelly made me chuckle, implicated the shows are zoo like. The Kardashians was one of the shows.
Wonder woman is looking good.
They gave it a Thursday slot. TPTB must see something. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I just don't get what they're trying to do with this show. They're trying to walk both sides of the street between serious space drama and comedy. The last episode was meant to be poignant but they also toss in penis jokes and sophomoric insults of calling people "d--ks". _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. The format is puzzling. Good story line, poor presentation of it.
Star Trek Discovery premiers tonight on CBS 2 8:00p PST. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Interestingly this show is directed by a couple members of the Star Trek franchise this is why it resembles Star Trek so much. |

It's like 80% Star Trek, 20% Ted. It's gotten better as its gone along. The pilot was by the far the worst episode. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Nice of them to add that Titanic easter egg for Victor Garber fans.
Not sure they how they managed to get Charlize Theron and Rob Lowe to guest star in recent episodes, it is rumored Patrick Stewart might consider it too. |

For some reason, Charlize is a friend of Seth. |
You're right -- didn't realize she worked on his western a while back, might be one of those Tarantino/Thurman situations. |

I like it! I am a huge trek fan so I will watch most anything that is similar.
I really wish it was more serious and less prank filled, but I guess that is what makes it unique. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Last episode was a misstep, imo. Basically glossed over what was essentially rape due to mind altering chemicals by the blue alien. Their "solution" to the war was also evil and ridiculous, using those pheromones and mind raping the two ambassadors. What the (bleep)? Even supposing I accept that a multigeneration enmity between two races could be resolved by two of their ambassadors suddenly falling in love with each other, how the hell is it okay to use chemicals to possibly change their sexual orientation and force that love? Huge, huge issues with that episode. |

I thought the last episode was a bit over the top. It cleared up the reason Kelly strayed. Putting the glob with Clair wasn't to my liking. Neither was Ed gitting with the alien who had the alluring chemical makeup when he was in heat. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
