I could save $20 on an MP3 player by going there instead of ordering online. I just don't want to have to wait in line for more than 45 minutes.

for $20 I would just order from home and not deal with ANY lines. I'd have to assume that the lines will be bad during that rush.
But I hear that "Black Friday is the busiest day of the shopping year" thing is a myth. There are actually worse days than that one
Which MP3 player are you going for? What online site did you find it?

If it is something that they have a large stock of, go to Best Buy around 3pm... the place is usually empty by then on Black Friday (can you get the $20 off if you order online but do a store pick-up.... if so, even better)... |

| I want to find the best deal possible on an XBOX 360 premium system..if anyone knows where to get the best deal let me know..Also what is the difference between the Core system and the Premium..besides the 20 gig hard drive..can the Core system use the wireless controller? Can the Core system use the XBOX Live? Either getting it after thanksgiving or before..whichever has the best deal available |

$100.00 rebates on both XBOX 360 systems until Dec 3 @ Micro Center

Depending on what you're there for the lines vary. Of course, the lines start up around 2-3 am for the big-ticket items. But if you go into the store around 10-11 am, and if the item si something that they have a lot of instock, they should still probably have it.
Personally for $20, I would take the chance of just going in a lil later, avoiding the lines and seeing if it's present. If not, then go buy it online . |

I wonder if local stores such as Compusa or Ebgames would be willing to price match since Micro Center is a store that exists in L.A..would be much easier for me to go to an ebgames then to go to microcenter..the closest one for me is Tustin..and when I say close I mean like an hour and a half away so it isn't worth it |

day after thanksgiving. all the stores have crazy deals. some of the busiest places are toy stores & electronic stores. the lines are ridiculous. stood in line at best buy for 45 min last year in the late morning to get all the sims for like 40 bucks. i like to hit the mall around 6 or 7am. still busy. but at least the mall serves free snacks to keep your energy up and you don't have to wait outside.

good thing I took care of half my xmas shopping last week. Ill try to finish this weekend. The sales do not make up for the craziness. Just not worth it. I eventually learn to hate the holidays.

It's the day after Thanksgiving, one of the busiest shopping days of the year. And it's also the day when lots of retailers put ridiculous sales on in order to get people into their stores. It's called Black Friday mainly because retailers can make up some ground starting on that day and move from being "in the red" to "in the black".
It's a day that normal people stay home and psychos go out to stores at 5:30 so they can knock old ladies down and get $80 sweaters for $16.95.

Me and my wife usually try to finish our Christmas shopping before Halloween. Not this year though since we had a baby.
