IMO both areas is where he needs the most work. He has the IQ and athleticism to be good but its a work in progress. |

The second he enters the league and his brand eats some humble pie; Lavar will start pushing "the decision 2.0 (BBB bigger, better, bs)". _________________ KOBE!!! |

I have Fultz as my #1 guy, but if we draft Lonzo, I will defend and cheer for him. I'm gonna watch some DX highlights of him to start warming myself up for him. I do remember watching him in January/February and thinking he was a very impactful player.
I think DLO/Ball offensively will be very beautiful to watch. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

yeah, but mainly because I see Lonzo as an off ball 2 in Luke's offense and think he fits PERFECTLY into what Luke is trying to run and I think our style would maximize him at this level.
I consider his talent, athleticism, work ethic, mentality, AND the style of the team he'd be going to, all those things align in a way that would make me feel he could maximize his talent more here than any other place.
That said, I think Fultz is best maximized as a scoring 2 in his own right and felt he'd fit here.
But I look at what Lonzo does, and everything about his style just fits so perfectly into what Luke would ask the 2 to do in this offense it's as if he's as custom made for us as Pau was for the triangle when he first got here.
Whether or not he'll be great will always depend on him.
But the pieces are definitely all there. Athleticism, high work ethic, good kid, team style that fits PERFECT to his own, and open role at the 2 just waiting for him.
So all the pieces are there for him to be great, it's just seeing if
it now all falls into place. |
Interestingly, I think Fultz comes off the bench for Boston next year, unless they trade Bradley. But if they don't, they have 4 guys sharing 96 minutes at guard, with IT deserving 36mpg. Sound familiar? 4/96? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lonzo/Ball is the primary reason why I was hoping that Ball would fall to the Lakers. He's got work to do like any other rook but what he brings on the plus side, this team could certainly use. _________________ We back. |

Landing the #1 pick likely seals Smart's fate as trade bait unless Ainge thinks he can get him on a cheap extension. |

If celts take Tatum which makes sense do you think magic has balls not to take ball knowing that he is at the very least an interest generator early on |

We'll see how it all works out, but I think D lo and Ball could be one of the best back courts in the league in a few years.....I actually think both players will help maximize each others talents and I think it's more than those two, BI also great next to these players as I firmly believe his outside shot will improve along with is general all around game.
I still have questions about the 4, as others have noted to really maximize what Ball does he needs to be surrounded by capable shooters/offensive players, which is why I think D lo is hand and glove next to ball, BI I think will grow into a highly capable player who makes the right play. At 4 we have Randle, Nance and I'm going to throw Deng in there as well.....Nance I have less issues with because I see him as 1st PF off the bench and what he brings is always valuable in that role. Deng we sort to have to live with due to the contract and it seems like 4 is the best spot for him overall. I like Randle, like what he brings to the team...but I'm not sure if his natural style of play works as well as it does with the other 3 main young guys.
I think Lakers may try to grab a player like leaf, markennan, etc |

You'll see all these broken jump shots coming out of LA while the children of San Fran will have these gorgeous jump shot mechanics. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The Celts are irrationally high on Smart, like, they think he's part of their core. I think they would consider Bradley, who would fetch more and is a FA in 2018. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Word out of LA is Lonzo Ball is heavy favorite at #2, but will take a long hard look at De'Aaron Fox too. Hoping for a head to head workout.
No way Lavar lets Lonzo go head to head against Fox. Lonzo isn't a 1 on 1 kind of guy; team system player. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Maybe it's a situation where Pelinka and Magic already know what Lonzo can do within a 5-on-5 setting and want to see how he matches up against a player that got a lot of credit for working him over (inflated opinion or not) just to see how Lonzo bounces back and perhaps to see how much Ball has worked on some of the weaknesses in his 1-on-1 game. Or maybe it's all smoke. _________________ We back. |
