Only problem.... this occurred in Somona, Califiornia...

Quote:
Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Rene Chouteau ordered Karr released immediately, bringing an end to his two-month odyssey in the U.S. criminal justice system after he was extradited from Thailand on suspicion of killing the 6-year-old beauty queen.

Karr, 41, was returned to California last month to face the five-year-old pornography case after DNA evidence cleared him of killing the girl in her Boulder, Colo., home in 1996.

I meant in how they handled everything prior to that nothing short of incompetent

Seems to have been enough incompetence in the handling of both the California and the Colorado charges. The evidence Colorado had wasn't strong enough to warrant bringing him back on suspicion of murder.

And the charges used to extradite him to California were based on kiddie porn found on a computer he owned that hadn't been accessed since 1998, 2 years before he moved to California, and which prosecutors seem to have lost in the ensuing years anyway. And the charge of possession would apparently have resulted in less jail time than Karr has already served waiting for the charges to be brought to trial.

The guy is definitely weird, and has undoubtedly committed some sexual crimes of some sort. But you still need evidence of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to convict. And apparently that was lacking in both cases.

Apparently, The Devil is displaying some power again. I can just see some cop watching those evil videos, on a laptop, that is missing from the evidence room...

He sounds more guilty if you use the full name. Media tricks.

No media tricks... the guy is a pedo that shouldn't be walking the streets.

guilty or not, I'm sure he's guilty of something and unfortunately it's going to take another incident to put him behind bars
