DTLA is coming back. I drive the 6th St. bridge every day. It's sad to see go. It's quintessential LA...like driving down Sunset during it's heydey but it's LA River and absolutely historical. On a clear day, downtown simply looks awesome, at night even better, and you kinda get that feeling a tourist gets when they see Hollywood sign. Different. But it's still "LA baby." It's microcosim of change thats happening with DTLA boom. On one side of bridge, the whole Arts District is blowing up. On the other you got former Jewish/Japanese now Latino barrio in Boyle Heights. The skid row area and Boyle Heights are now gentifying. Hipster vegan bars and restarants like Bestia are now just a block or 2 from homeless. Lots of people are gonna be kicked out, and the racial make up is gonna change. It's kinda weird. I see photographers every day, and film crews on bridge. It's in so many commercials, various film spots you take for granted but your like yeah I've seen that before. Once it's complete, I can see it being a new icon for City just like the Disney Concert Hall. |

You would have thought that a bridge like that might be seen in a movie or two... |

Lots of change happening in DTLA. The Grand Park has been a great addition to the city as well. There are a bunch of new buildings being built. There's supposed to be a new building that will be the tallest building west of Chicago. Cant wait to see what LA will look like 10 years from now. |

That will be interesting to see....are they gonna move skid row elsewhere? I don't see that as an easy problem to fix. Anybody who is familiar with downtown LA realizes how big the homeless problem is and that won't be easy to solve. |

Going to bused out to the Inland Empire. Anaheim already fought back against a homeless shelter there.

Lots of homeless migrating to the San Fernando Valley. As I was out and about today running errands I counted at least 10 people today sprawled out with their belongings on bus benches.
People can only look away from this blight for so long. _________________ Lakers. Built different. |

More competition is good for the electric car market. I remember Tesla was thinking of build a factory in Downey before they finally selected the Norcal one because they got a discount from Toyota where they used to assemble Corollas. |
