I would love to join in this aspiration, but he just hasn't gotten enough PT to come to that conclusion. Is he the kind of player who can score in spurts, but over a 35mpg span he's less effective? Could he maintain the high FT rate? I think before we can effectively postulate, he needs to play. And he needs to just grab minutes from Price, Wes, X, and even Lin. We literally have nothing to lose. Clarkson won't change the tide significantly either in terms of W-L, but at least we get to know. | The PT is the only thing holding him back imo, the talent is there. The confidence, aggressiveness, and the athleticism is why I think he's going to be good. |

I was so excited when Randle, Clarkson, Davis, and Lin were on the floor at the same time in preseason. So sad that we won't be able see that anymore...
Clarkson on the floor is the only thing that gets me up when watching the games these days. |

I think it's too early to get too excited or too down on Clarkson. He's got the physical potential and he looks like a hard worker, those are two great attributes. Let's give him time he hasn't had enough time to develop and show us what he's going to be in this league. |

Honestly I don't think Lin is that much better than him. |

It looks like the FO is looking for another backup PG... Why isn't Clarkson getting any minutes still? |

Scott is more interested in getting wins than developing the rookie. I wouldn't mind him not getting PT if there was sufficient practice time between games, that is a god way to develop a young player. But so far there hasn't been much practice time. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I wouldn't mind him taking some of Lin's/Wes minuets just to see what he can give. Probably wont happen because he's a rookie. _________________

It's not the worse thing in the world to let a rookie practice and observe for a few months and then break him in... that's how they used to do it in Scott's day unless the rookie was ready. Clarkson obviously isn't ready yet. |

A couple of more games in the D-League may be in the works too.
It could only help him. Sitting on the pine get old real fast! |

Clarkson is not a point. 2-guard if he makes it in this league. |

And how has that worked out so far exactly? _________________ .

Which one of you guys called Lakers Live on AM 710 tonight? Some guy was saying that "Clarkson does everything that Ronnie Price does, which is nothing" and was bashing on Byron big time. |

Clarkson is a great athlete. The problem is he can't shoot. |

you haven't watched him at all since summer? his shot is fixed, he's a solid shooter at the least now. his problem so far in the regular season - he hasn't been able to create a good shot for himself. he's shot way too many contested floaters, and missed most of them; can't get all the way to the rim. he goes right 90% of the time. |

I watched him since preseason and he took himself out of the starting rotation when he missed almost every shot he took. That's when B. Scott put him on the bench. |

The way Monta played today is exactly what I'd hope to see out of Clarkson in the future. |

Definitely way to early to judge him but his biggest (and maybe his only) flaw in his game is he can not shoot (he looks horrible). Fortunately for him, it can be fixed. IF he puts the work in, he can be at the very least a good role player. I still think he has a lot of potential. Hopefully, Byron doesn't waste the year and gives him some valuable playing time. Its bad enough Randle misses out on the season. I would hate to have Clarkson miss out on season as well. |

Stick Price at the end of the bench where he belongs and give the kid the playing time he needs to develop. It's pretty annoying how much Byron seems to like Price. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Agreed. Wayne Ellington, Jeremy Lin and Ronnie Price have shown us their respective ceilings. I want to see what Jordan Clarkson can do with 30+ minutes over an extended stretch. _________________ Lakers, today. Lakers, tomorrow. Lakers, forever. |

I doubt price, Ellington are returning next season. Once the team is hopelessly out of the playoffs I hope Scott will let the kid play. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

haven't read the thread, just came in here to say this guy is awful. I've never laughed so hard this season. Between his horribleness and Kobe shooting every single time. I'll be glad when this year is over....or we make a big trade. |
