Of all the young players paraded on-stage Thursday night with David Stern, Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was the one most suited to join the Lakers, or any other serious contender, and help right away.
Given Michael Jordan's track record as a talent evaluator, it's almost amazing the Charlotte Bobcats took Kidd-Gilchrist second overall, after his NCAA champion teammate Anthony Davis went first to New Orleans. But it was the right spot for Kidd-Gilchrist, who won't be 19 until September. |

Quote: | Lamar Odom Returns To Add More Drama To Lakers-Clippers Rivalry
Who says you can’t go home again? Certainly not Lamar Odom who is headed back to L.A. via a four-team trade that does not involve the Los Angeles Lakers. Of course Odom wasn’t going to be able to re-join the Lake Show anyway thanks to the new rules of the CBA, at least not until December of 2012 he couldn’t have. But that’s all a moot point.
Still, it somehow seems fitting that Odom should return to where it all started for him as he’ll be back in Staples sporting those red, white and blue colors of the Clippers. As if the suddenly serious rivalry between the Lakers and Clippers needed more drama, along comes Odom to deal the revenge card from the bottom of the deck. |

Quote: | Will Lakers Trade Gasol to the Wolves?: Fan Reaction
The Los Angeles Lakers do not have a lot of options this summer. They picked up a couple of second-round picks and they extended offers to Devin Ebanks and Darius Morris. Unless they make a blockbuster trade, that may be the extent of their dealings. Obviously they will try to sign a point guard and hopefully bring back Ramon Sessions. However, they may need to settle for a cheap veteran that is willing to play for a small salary at the end of their career. |

The Los Angeles Lakers have extended qualifying offers to forward Devin Ebanks and guard Darius Morris, making them both restricted free agents.

Quote: | They already traded him once in the failed Pau Gasol deal, so it doesn't appear that Luis Scola is untouchable in Houston. Especially because the Rockets are trying to trade him again.
Having added two power forwards to the roster on draft night it's pretty clear Scola is expendable. According to ESPN.com, the Rockets are actively shopping their veteran forward.
The Houston Rockets are actively looking to trade veteran power forward Luis Scola, according to league sources briefed on Houston's plans.
Although a specific trade partner for Houston has not yet emerged, sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets -- stocked with big forwards after coming away with Royce White and Terrence Jones in the NBA draft earlier this week -- are working to find a new home for Scola as they rebuild their roster. |

R U kidding us all, this is not worry of a sticky yet alone a " " post.
I would not want MKG straight up for Pau cause he's short power forward with no jumper, a bull drive to basket & always to the right. 6'8" or shorter isn't going to work in NBA the way his game is now...
PS: HE'S NOT A LAKER!!! |

The Lakers were trying to land the #2 pick to draft MK-G. Author is a little out there maybe saying what he did, but LA was definitely trying to land a high lotto pick. And MK-G was tops on their wish list. |

How can we rue the day he got away. That author makes it seem like we passed up on him in the draft. He was the second, overall pick. Our only pick was the NBA's equivalent of "Mr. Irrelevant". _________________ Lakers, today. Lakers, tomorrow. Lakers, forever. |

Cheap roster fill out that can be waived at any point. You need 13-14 guys to go into the year with.
Unlike a vet, who would cost 1.2 M or something like that, Darius can be kept for cheaper, less of a lux tax hit, can be waived at any point ... and there's always the chance he can improve. |

Dumbest article headline ever. How did he get away when the Lakers never had a shot at him? |
