He's overlooked....but Chris Kaman is a HUGE reason the Clips are doing well this year.
So for those who think Chris Mihm's presence in the frontcourt in terms of shotblocking, rebounding, and high percentage scoring won't be SORELY missed..... you're wrong.
We're going to lose a lot more games than you think. Book it. |

Well, thi's ha's to do with the Laker's because Kaman's performance wa's pretty incredible and reflective of the importance of having an inside presence.
There are a lot of poster's in here who think that the los's of Mihm is not going to affect our ability to win ball game's.
The problem is that we're going to have to rely more on the jump shot now because getting high percentage look's in the paint i's more difficult a's Mihm i's the only inside scoring presence we have.
That's why I give's a crap. |

He's relating Kaman's role to Mihm's.
I guess we'll have to find out tomorrow how the Lakers do without Mihm. |

Agreed. But, this is being discussed in a number of threads to some extent. Read the Mihm injury thread as well as the no playoffs without Mihm thread for more discussion about it.
Also, you might want to consider rewording your title so its more relevant to your point. As of now, it seems as if you're giving us the stat line of Chris Kaman, who is neither a Laker nor was playing a Laker team. |

Hence the "OT" at the beginning of the thread title which means "Off-Topic". It can be moved if necessary.
I've also seen a lot of posters talking about the ineffectiveness of "white" centers which is pretty lame ... considering, I'll take 24/23/4/3 with 83% FT shooting anyday, black, white, yellow, brown or blue. |

I watched that pitiful game. Kaman was easiest the biggest guy out there and they fed him the ball. He did his job well.
I still don't like him, but there are nights he really brings it. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

he had a play in the second quarter where he was in the open court and crossed over Marko, but couldn't make the lay up. I was just laughing.
The guy is so silly looking. He also plays silly, every move he does comes after a spin move. He even does spin moves when no one is there... _________________ Chick will always be loved and remembered. |

This guy is an all-star in the making.
Hell, if Jamaal Magloire can be an all-star, this guy can be a perennial all-star. |

I just hope we had him, he's better than Mihm and obviously better than Kwame too _________________ The Kings are unbeaten in 10 home games since Artest's arrival, beating opponents by an average of 16 points per game. Yeah, I like Kaman too.
He's quietly becoming one of the top centers in the NBA.
His game can be a little ugly and strange, but it's effective because of it. He just plays at his own rhythm. He's UNPREDICTABLE - which gives him a nice advantage.
He's agile with very nice footwork. He has a wide variety of post moves and can score around the rim with either hand. He runs the floor very well, rebounds hard and plays with excellent energy/passion. He also has a pretty good feel for the game - as far as when/where to pass, dribbling out of trouble, reading defenses and when to rotate over to help others.
He's active, scrappy and a total team-first player. What's not to like?? I'd sure take him on the Lakers any day! _________________ Everything. Changes. |

In today's NBA that isn't much said. Not that it would prevent me from wanting him with a haircut for the Lakers. _________________ I want to say something about Dwayne Wade, but I fear I may get called for a foul.

If Kaman was on the Lakers, everyone would love his hair and find it "endearing".
Personally I love Kaman. He has ADD, so he's had to work especially hard to get where he is - you gotta respect that. And yeah, really he's already one of the top centers in the league. You can't argue that he's already a monster rebounder, plus he's a pretty good shot blocker. On top of that, he's a traditional back to the basket center who would be scoring a lot more on a team that needed post scoring. With Brand on his team, plus Maggette, Cassell, and Mobley chucking up perimeter shots, he doesn't need to score, but works his role without complaining.
The Clippers got a steal with him in the draft. Here's hoping they refuse to pay him what he's worth in FA (don't know when he's a FA) and the Lakers can swoop in on him. |

For some reason, I always picture him wearing a plaid shirt with lumberjack jeans and holding an axe, with a flashlight shining up on his face. |

I agree. A big man who can use either his left or right. Real back to the basket game. Decent passer, good rebounder. What is there not to like. He really imperssed me in college. If Bynum could become another Kaman, he would have been a good pick. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Ive had hope in Kaman ever since I fist got to see him play for the Clips his rc season. He can do it all and can be a future all star player. I could care less what he looks like.

kaman has an advantage over these pampered nba players. he spend the first years of his life playing at a high level of competition hunting wooly mammoths before he was frozen in ice and thawed out to play basketball. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |
