It would be hilarious if Dwight gives up his opt out and Orlando then trades him.
He isn't signing the EXTENSION just the waiver.
Shaq said last night on NBA TV that he was given 4 extensions in his career to sign and he signed them IMMEDIATELY. He said D12 not signing his extension means there are problems in Orlando.
D12 signs the waiver so he isn't traded now. Next season Orlando has to trade him or get NOTHING so they are back to this same nonsense.
If I am Orlando, AFTER D12 signs the waiver, I tell D12 to sign the extension or he is getting traded immediately.
I mean it's a bit risky, I wouldn't even give him the ultimatum, I would just trade him. Or let him sign an extension and then trade him anyways - bottom line is I'm trading him!
You tell him "sign an extension or you're traded" with the intention of actually keeping him is pretty silly; why would you want a player who's clearly going to be pissed at your entire franchise on your team?
What could possibly take so long to sign a piece of paper? The money is already set so they dont have to hammer out any details, its a simple signature saying you arent leaving in July.
Reportedly they want his Agent to sign it too. Not sure where his agent is (probably NY).
Dwight is a funny guy, I guess like John Stockton (or was it Karl Malone) who said they just liked to hang-with-the-guys on the bus and were not real consumed with winning a Championship.
So the bottom line is what does Dwight REALLY want?
1) Money
2) Fame
3) A Championship
4) Not to piss anyone off
5) To be on a Rebuilding Team
Staying with the Magic gets him #1 & #4
Going to the Nets gets him #1, #2 & #5
Going to the Lakers gets him #1, #2, #3 _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”
Several teams say New Orleans is getting more realistic on asking price for Chris Kaman. "They won't get a 1st for him," one official says.
barbosa goes to indiana aswell, deals starting to shape up lets hope we get in on the action _________________ Jerome James being asked what he thought about his coach calling him selfish, his response was:

What about Gasol and the first round picks for DWill/filler? That has to raise interest in Nets right? _________________ Back to Back Yeah, Yeah...and you know that!

Offer it again Mitch!!
Keep offering till they get tired of it and accept?

It's time for D.Will to step up. Don't pull a LeBron. Let them know you have no intentions of re-signing with them and are joining another superstar in Dallas. They are holding onto the hope that he re-signs, and if he's all about winning, I just don't see that happening. Hometown + Dirk + championship team = opting out. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts!
