Pau is the odd man these days, he's always open because the defense draws toward Kobe and Bynum. Now Kobe and Pau can both shoot a jumper, so they're much more comfortable with it. Bynum though gets double and really lets himself handle too much. He shouldn't be afraid of passing out to Pau, repositioning himself, and getting a pass back. That's one of the things he's gotta learn to do and expect. |
would love to see that happen.. reposition and get deeper. |

Kobe is still elite offensively which is amazing but you gotta agree that defensively, he is pretty much done. Watching him try to guard any of the Blazers wing players was just not pretty. |
I don't think "he's done." He is visibly slower, I'll give you that. But I don't think he needs to be at full speed risking injuries right now. Let's wait till the post season and the games where he really has to play defense, before we pass judgement. |

Only way I can see the Lakers live where I live is to put up with that rancid Rose Garden crowd to watch. It's almost always a frustrating game, but win or lose, just getting a chance to watch Kobe live and fully appreciate what he brings to the game keeps me coming back year after year. It was clear last night and tonight as well; no way is he done. |

He actually runs out now at shooters on 3s, so Mike's teachings are having some effect on him this year. He just lapses from time to time, a lot better than last year where it was literally "I focus 100% on O, nothing on D". |

Watching other teams hit 3 after 3 last season was friggin infuriating! |

Teams have started to adjust to Drew's play, now up to drew and the lakers to make some counter adjustments to get Drew the ball in his spots. |

Kobe, Pau and Matt Barnes - Great games!!
Drew - shot was off but still active around the basket, 16 rebounds, not bad!
Fish - crafty little on that Q4 steal!
Goudelock with 4 - now if only we could extend a lead and maybe see a little Morris??? |

considering the limited number of games he has played this season, that's a quick adjustment. It's amazing what Bynum lacks, Pau has and what Pau lacks Bynum can provide. Pau is not going to change at this point, hopefully Bynum understands that he needs to truly understand the offense and spacing. It's not just about feeding him and then he dunks, anymore. |

>> Duranla: Bynum w 9 pts 16 boards said he had no energy or legs
So, will Bynum ever have his conditioning down? |

It seems Drew and Pau were working on that a bit in the first half yesterday, and for a while vs Portland both Pau and Drew were playing very effectively on offense at the same time, at least prior to halftime. Today we saw a lot more Pau as well. I see Pau initiating a lot of conversations with Drew, and from what I can see Drew appears willing to listen; I think it's a matter of time. |

This might be a problem throughout the year, although Kobe seems to be doing fine for now.
mcten Dave McMenamin
Barnes on Kobe: "He's playing with a boxing glove for a hand. It's that swollen."
Just wish he didn't have to be so aggressive in a damn pre season game. |

Portland gets clobbered in Phoenix by 25 points. 2/19 on 3 pointers. _________________
