Magic Waive Penny

Magic waive Penny Hardaway.

The Orlando Magic return home tonight for the first time with three new players acquired in trades over the past week and a half.

If you remember, the team did get four players. But an old favorite is already off the team.

The Magic waived Anfernee Hardaway this morning.

"Penny" was a staple on the team for six seasons during the mid-90s, when the team made its only appearance in the NBA Finals.

Hardaway only played in a handful of games this year for the New York Knicks before suffering what possibly could be a career-ending injury.

Bound to come. I think Orlando is becoming my second favorite team and my favorite in the east. They're making some really strong moves to improve themselves over the next several years.

I would like for us to take a look at Penny. He can play point, the 2, and the 3.

I dunno dude, I think that'd be like signing McKie or Vlade all over again. He's played about 4 games and 72 total minutes this year. The last game he played was on december 9th. Sad, but I say stick a fork in him, he's done.

Penny was an excellent player at one time. I don't know if he has anything left.

It would be ironic if Penny followed in Shaq's path to L.A. It's more likely he will quietly retire.
