The Lakers are the most storied franchise in NBA history, maybe even all sports behind the Yankees......However, the last couple of seasons have really showed that a franchise must go through a cycle of winning and rebuilding.
The weird thing is that the lakers are rebuilding while paying a coach 10 mil/year for 3 years......have the best player in the NBA, on a huge contract for another 6 years.......... and are teaching the new players an offense that might not be in place in 4 years......
Maybe theres a plan to contend in 2 years. maybe its a HUGE smokescreen and its this year...( garnett)(yes im a believer).... maybe kwame grows some character, maybe cookie grows some balls.... and we contend this year... then again maybe kobe gets injured and we are *%$#... hopefully it will al turn out for the best.
So, what are the expectations???
I will be satisfied to get into the second round and win at least 2 games....
No playoffs...... and ill be soooo (*&$*&^ mad.
Championship and ill do somethin crazy! i would be soooo *&% happy! |

I'd be elated if Kwame can learn to become the next J O'Neal. It's dumbfounding to see a guy with that kind of potential just getting a few boards a night and a few TOs. He'd be in the elite PF echelon if he'd just work harder and pay attention on the court.
I'd be happy with a playoff berth and some signs of life in the 1st round. |

There is no satisfaction unless we win the title. That should be everyone's standard for any team really.
I honestly don't see how we can still be excited if we make the playoffs and lose somewhere in whatever round and still go. "At least we made the playoffs!" _________________

Get rid of the following garbage:
1. Aaron McKie
2. Slava Medvedenko
3. Luke Walton _________________ A proud member of LakersGround.net for over 10 years [since April 28, 2001] |

What do you want for this trash service? The most we are likely to get is a couple of second round picks. I could see McKie starting his coaching career, Slava heading back to europe, and Luke out of the league in a couple of years. Luke might join the family business and end up in broadcasting. My idea for your garbage:
Profit back next year in Luke's spot
Green or other in McKie's spot
Turiaf taking Slava's spot _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

1. A 10-win improvement on last year's record.
2. Playoffs and a little noise while there. Push the series to 6 or 7 games. Maybe even a first-round upset.
3. Evidence that the core guys "get it" during the stretch run
4. Another Kobe Night just because
These are the expectations I had (except maybe the Kobe thing) before the season started and I still think that way. My 5th one would have been to see progress from Bynum and Turiaf, but both of those dudes have blown my progress meter away. Bynum absorbing everything from Cap and showing us what he learned plus Turiaf just being on the floor is ...
I also have to give Mihm credit for being a surprise and stepping his game up. I can't wait to get him back. |

That Kwame and Lamar will be traded for Real Basketball Players who actually have the knack for playing basketball and Bring It Every Night. No days off.
Two starters, significant roles, inconsistent and imcompetent. Downfall of the team.

Seeing the Lakers and Heat end up in the NBA Finals. Believe me, no one wants a rematch of last year's finals. Ugh! _________________ Sorry, Clippers. Beat LA is exclusively for the LAkers. |
