Reserves Announced for All-Star Game
The NBA announced the reserves for the All-Star Game that will be held on Sunday, February 19. The coaches selected four Detroit Pistons, which marks the first time in history that four teammates were chosen as reserves and the seventh time that a team will have four representatives in the All-Star Game.

So basically its the West vs. the Pistons. I think Melo should've made it. |

East:
Chauncey Billups
Rip Hamilton
Rasheed Wallace
Ben Wallace
Chris Bosh
Paul Pierce
Vince Carter
West:
Pau Gasol
Tony Parker
Dirk Nowitzki
Elton Brand
Ray Allen
KG
Shawn Marion
I wonder who will get JO's spot since he's injured. I'd probably vote for Gilbert Arenas or Michael Redd. Bosh is having a great season, but so are those guys and their teams have better records than his. |

They should have put melo in over ray allen. nuggets are leading their division yet don't have a single all star. that's jacked up. |

If Tayshaun Prince gets JO's spot, then that'll truely be a travesty. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. I too am shocked at the absence of Carmelo Anthony. That really is messed-up. _________________ If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball. ~Phil Jackson |

Seriously though, how did they leave Carmelo off? Hell, KG has been less than one would expect of KG. Carmelo has been better than expected. Why? _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. KG at less than expected is still better than Carmelo. Don't get me wrong, I love 'melo, but still, gotta take KG.
The shocker for me is Arenas. Good god, have you seen his numbers? |

Yeah, I've seen his numbers. He got jobbed, no doubt.
But back to KG. He may still be better, but Carmelo has been a great player this year whilst leading the Nuggets to a division lead. KG, for all his greatness, is behind Carmelo in the standings and that's despite Melo not having any help in the front court, save for Camby who has been out 20 games. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. I agree that Carmelo has done a great job leading his team and if you use team success as a criteria you've gotta seriously look at him, but if you start comparing teams, you still gotta take KG. KG has NO help there at all - Ricky Davis now, but not throughout the season, and Szerbiak and his just say no to defense attitude just plain stink. His team's supporting cast is almost as bad as the Lakers. Melo at least had one of the better PG's in the league, Camby for awhile, and a one-legged Kenyon. |

Melo and Paul both deserved to be there.
Let me also add that while the Pistons have been great collectively, individually some of those guys don't deserve to be there. How is 15/6.6 from Rasheed more worthy than some of the other guys who were snubbed?
Honestly, I'm sick of all this Detroit ass-kissing. |

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad to see others have already noticed Chris Paul got screwed. Ray Allen stays in Seattle and look where they are this season. Chris Paul shows up in town and takes the Hornets from an 18-win season to the 7th seed in a deep western conference.
Are the coaches All Star votes available to the public? |

I disagree. You can't just ignore how crappy KG's team has been, while Melo has grabbed his team by the horns and with tons of injuries to major players on it, and led them to playoff contention. KG is less dominant and less inspired this year than he has ever been.
Melo deserves it over KG. KG is there because of who he is, not what he's done this season. |

LOL wtf...no Melo? Isn't he like 3rd in 4th qtr scoring this season and isn't afraid of the ball in the last 2 min of every game. Melo should have gotten either Ray Allen's or Pau Gasol's spot.
Melo
25.8 ppg
5.3 rpg
2.6 apg
46.1 FG%
This guy is not an all star? |
