We could have easily signed Blake (or even Pargo) instead of McKie. We most likely could have traded Butler for Magloire.
However, am glad we didn't get Bender! |

I would rather have Mihm than Magloire. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Bender is the one trade I regret the Lakers not making. That 17th pick of Danny Granger would be looking very good right now. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

Blake lit us up last time L.A. played Portland. I'd take his defense over Smush at this point. |

Every summer with kupcake as our GM, we will have some regrets. Get used to it |

Gotta love hindsight wank. Everyone is an expert when they can clearly look at the past. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

You think this summer is bad? With the 07 plan, we can do NOTHING next summer. |

I thought I remembered hearing that in the early discussions of the
Caron/Kwame trade that we could have gotten Juan Dixon instead of
Laron Profit (S&T on his part? not sure... just remember hearing it)...
Woulda been a nice guy in our backcourt mix in this system. |

We could have gotten Baron Davis or Ron Artest instead for Caron too. We could have tried to keep Payton. We could have tried to repair the rift with Malone. We could have kept Jumaine Jones. We could have traded Shaq for expiring contracts and been in a better position. Or we could have traded him for resigned Nash and Dirk or Oneal% Artest.
We've made a hundred bad moves. What can you do. |

Shaq for expiring contracts? I doubt that any team had THAT much money in expiring contracts. |

You can regrat a lot of things when trade your 2nd best scorer for a bum and your biggest free agent signing is Aaron McKie.

Not to mention that Shaq was willing to only go to a few specific teams, a fact that is too often overlooked when playing the "What if?" game. |

I'd do that. Mihm is ok at the offensive end, but is an overrated defender. |

Yes, because you know every single offer that was on the table, and you are better than Mitch at pulling off deals with bloated contracts. My hats off to you. |

Honestly I don't think so. I mean Blake had a good game against us but I see him still as no threat. Still would take Smush over Blake. No with Magloire he seems pretty decent but I see a better upside with a improving Mihm besides the shoulder injury, and a young and hunry Bynum. So all in all I still thin were good. Give it time and patience my Laker friends we will reach the moutain top once again. |

...all I know is that none of the moves Mitch has made has paid off yet. This 07/08 plan better pay off or else he'll go down as the GM who completely wasted the second half of Kobe's career. |

Just wait until the trading deadline passes in a couple of weeks and no moves are made. All the ending contracts wasted. Then what? |
