First it is Dalembert and Cousins, now it's a crippled Garnett and a Big Baby tearing up our big men?!
We don't have BIGS. Our front court is the most overrated front court in the HISTORY OF THE NBA.
Huh? In another thread some were arguing they would choose to build a team around Bynum over Blake Griffin, and that having Bynum would have allowed the Utah jazz to beat Jordan's Bulls teams.
This is what happens when you put one dimensional players around Kobe. He has to create everything for them to even have a chance.
How many times you going to say this? _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.."
The victoria secrets version of Pau, Bynum and Lamar, showed up right on cue. Just like I thought they would. Pau's play is really starting to become predictable.
Aside from a bone headed play to end the half, Odom has not sucked in the same vein as Gasol and Socks... In fact had Jackson gave up on Pau earlier and let him play the lesser minutes tonight it actually may have made a difference. Odom had damned near the same production as Gasol in 17 less minutes of action...
Exactly. Lamar actually played well outside of that stupid foul.
He defended KG and Big Baby very well and he made 75% of his shots.
I dunno how this could be a bad game by Lamar, he held his ground. _________________ Before Lamar trade: Lakers-57 wins (2011)

Lol, people actually thought trading LO would be a GOOD thing

WILL THIS LOSS BE THE TURNING POINT OF THE SEASON?
You know I keep hearing this about every game they lose but I just don't see the fire, heart, or intensity right now in these guys. _________________ And always remember my brother, one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, knick knack, paddy whack, give a dog a bone, two thousand, zero, zero, party, oops out of time. Is it too much to ask for them to play a close but competitive game against an elite team in the NBA this year?
They haven't had a victory against any of the elite teams like San Antonio, Miami or Boston.
^ This is not going to be the turning point of the season. This team is not playing with effort and they are losing an alarming amount of home games to teams good and bad.
Mitch has to get on the phone now..we have made fun of the Spurs for years about their old age, now look at the Lakers..they can't defend, can't guard anyone and can't score..enough is enough we need some young blood on this team
The difference between Pop and Phil, if George Hill and Blair are on the Lakers, they'll rot on the bench as Luke Walton continues to get minute. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Why is that when Kobe shows up big, his teammates disappear. When his teammates show up, Kobe disappears. It's mind boggling.
Maybe it's possible you're looking at it wrong. Maybe Kobe reads the situation. Maybe when his teammates show up, Kobe goes with the flow. Maybe when his teammates don't show up, Kobe then goes off.
I know there are some Kobe haters, but Kobe did what he had to do. Look at his first half, where at one point he was 7-9. That was controlled shooting from Kobe.
There's no way you can say that the Bigs just started to sit around and watch him shoot because he didn't start chucking until they started jump shooting themselves. (Pau Gasol lazy fadeaway that led to a defensive breakdown and easy 2 for the Celtics because Gasol was slow to get back on defense... I'm looking at you)
Artest had a dud of an offensive game, but he was doing a somewhat okay job of guarding Pierce. The problem was Phil put in Luke Walton and Pierce ended up getting great looks which led to him catching on fire, which eventually led to Ray Allen catching on fire.
Gasol was 5-13 from the field and ended with 12 points. Woulda been forgivable but he got his ass handed to him on rebounds. I can't even keep track of the amount of times where he'd swat the rebound out of his own hands, so that a celtic couldn't get it, only to have it go to another C so that they could throw it ahead.
I wish Shannon Brown had more of a chance to shoot, too, but he was never placed into the game at the right times. That would be a shot at Phil Jackson's really unsettling rotations.
Ultimately, Kobe tried his best and gave it his best effort. Nobody should be able to doubt that he tried to will the victory, because he -had- to.
Oh, and (bleep) Luke Walton. I really don't care about him/his story/how much people like to shout "LUUUUKE" when he touches the ball because he's the biggest liability out on the court.
Our bigs are useless. No urgency on the defensive or offensive end. Boston is an older team than us and in many ways smaller along the frontline yet they totally outplayed Bynum and Gasol. No rebounds. Poor defensive rotations. The stats don't lie. We played an isolation game. They played a team game with passing, finding the open guy and taking nice open easy shots because our rotations sucked. This team will not do a damn thing until they redededicate themselves on the defensive end. Artest and Fisher useless. What did we have, 9 assists? WTF?
Just when Kobe has started to play well our bigs have fallen off the face of the earth. I find it very concerning that this team doesn't think it needs to get up for games and that it probably thinks that it can just be turned on for the playoffs.
Finally, I don't get what Jackson is doing. We're completely abandoning the triangle which is stupid to do against Boston. Unless were shooting the lights out, we are going to give up tons of transition opportunities and not be in position for rebounds, cutbacks, and second chance points. Once again, all the hustle stats go against this team. I think it's very difficullt to imagine this team making it beyond the conference finals.
