Mr. Miyagi's signature on the Celtics Jersey that she wore with a picture of Kobe nodding his head to her attached to Garnett's number or it didn't happen. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi. |

Pretty simple, actually ...
Quote: | I was wearing my Celtics trackie and he gave me the back head nod |
acknowledged my presence with a friendly gesture
Quote: | i gave it back then i put my hands up |
which I reciprocated, but made the addition of a playfully mocking gesture
Quote: | and he lol'd and said girl did you just throw your hands up to me? |
At which point he laughed and the two of us shared a joke about the gesture I'd made back at him.
Quote: | and i laughed and said i thought you were mad dogging me. |
I joked with him that I was unsure if he was giving me a pointedly aggressive stare in an effort to intimidate me.
Quote: | he said i didnt know if i should say good luck or sorry then i said i was thinking the same thing and we both laughed! |
He made another joke about the fact that I was wearing Celtics paraphernalia, which I immediately turned around on him with the context that he is a Laker. We both found this amusing. _________________ "It’s like going to the Getty and standing in front of Van Gogh’s Irises while some schmuck next to you critiques individual brush strokes. I translated for us old folks:
I was wearing my Celtics trackie
I was wearing my nasty, stinky, ugly-ass kelly-green Celtic work-out clothes.
and he gave me the back head nod
Kobe politely acknowledged me as a Celtic fan with a nod of the head.
i gave it back then i put my hands up
Being the no-class Celtic-fan that I am, instead of simply nodding back to him, I threw up my hands as if to say, "Is that all you got, butt-head?"
and he lol'd and said girl did you just throw your hands up to me?
Even though I was being rude and was intruding on his personal time at the gym, he laughed and tried to make light of the situation by playfully chiding me.
and i laughed and said i thought you were mad dogging me.
Being the ignorant, self-centered person that I implied that he was the one being rude.
he said i didnt know if i should say good luck or sorry
What he was really thinking is that the Celtics are one and done and it'll be another 20 years before they make it back to the finals but he didn't really want to hurt her feelings.
then i said i was thinking the same thing and we both laughed!
Even though I couldn't name the Celtic starting five if my life depended on it and have no idea who's playing who in the playoffs, I'm like all other Celtic fans -- egotistical, superior, obnoxious and boneheaded enough to believe the Celtics actually have a chance win another trophy this year. lol |

my nephews fiance works out at that same gym, its somewhere in the irvine/oc area....apparently the regulars always see kobe there for his normal morning workouts but they dont bother him. I guess thats why he goes there to be left the hell alone, specially by some celtics fan...who knows some fan might try to drop a dumbbell on his foot or something... _________________ RIP.....Pop (AJ Sr.) 7/09/23-01/20/09

I could probably find out, but not sure it'd be a good idea to make that public.
My wife apparently asked her if she got an autograph, but I guess it's a pretty strict gym when it comes to that sort of thing (probably because Kobe goes there). |
You wouldn't be telling anybody anything they didn't already know . Everyone knows he works out at The Arc.

That's what I was curious about. Why would someone throw up their arms up? Is she a mad, charging gorilla? |
