This is a game that suits us, we shouldn't have any problems dropping 120 plus points on these clowns, we just cant let them score 130 on us. Kobe, Pau, Lamar and Ariza will have huge games, we should pull this out. |

I have a feeling we might see a 45-pointer out of Kobe. He hasn't had to do it much at all this year, but it seems like tomororw might be a perfect storm: Bynum's injury, the big stage of New York, the potential for a shootout, the defensively challenged Knicks...I don't know. Now I hope it's a 120-100 game and Kobe sits the last 6 minutes, but I could see something big. |

The Lakers will probably find out that Bynum's injury isn't as bad as expected and it will motivate them to hold their own against the Knicks. Hopefully they can also win at either Boston or Cleveland. I highly doubt they will win both and wouldn't be surprised if they lost both too though. |

Am worried about this game, very worried. I hope we win though, because we really need this game!!! ITs bad enough we are limping into our rematches with Boston and Cavs. I don't want a let down to the Knicks. They are actually playing really good lately!!! Oh man, oh man!!! Bynum was just becoming that January beast wasn't he? Whats with him and Januarys anyways!!! He don't like playing in February or what? _________________ New Beginings |

According to this article the Lakers might not start LO against the Knick's, but are planning on starting him afterward.
Quote: | The Lakers will try to make do for Bynum's absence by sliding Pau Gasol over from power forward to center and moving Lamar Odom into the starting lineup at power forward. (It might not happen against the undersized Knicks, but it will be their standard setup after that.) |

not concerned about offense at all, i just hope that gasol shows up and doesn't settle for 10 points. with andrew gone for now, gasol needs to get 20 ppg. but against the knicks, this shouldn't be too critical since they really dont play any defense.
obviously its about the defense, i want to see ariza on nate and kobe over crawford like he was on lebron and wade. let lamar take lee. just like the suns, gotta watch out for the pnr's and the corner 3. if the lakers can stick with their man and not double excessively, and switch properly, this game is going to be a blow out. this game SHOULD be a blow out damn it, but we'll see.. |

All that matters is winning, and I'd take any Laker victory over an impressive Bynum performance, but getting both was the best. If the team could win tonight, and keep winning, it would be the greatest distraction, but I have to admit Bynum's injury also has major entertainment factor implications for me personally. Obviously most by far are dazzled by Kobe's acrobatics, so maybe I'm alone in being most entertained by Bynum playing well: the dunks, blocks, even post moves were just the funnest things to watch. I was probably just mesmerized by the potential though.
I thought David Lee got the best of Bynum the last time out, so I was excited to see the matchup now that Bynum had turned the corner. Gasol/Lee are such different players--kind of curious how that will look out there. |

Yup, that's right... I'd hate to be New York tonight.
Furthermore, I'd hate to be Toronto on Wednesday, Boston on Thursday, or Cleveland on Sunday.
Lakers are going to start to play angry! Kobe is going to play angry. Pau is going to play ANGRY! Hell, even LO and Mihm are seeing big dollar signs and they're gonna start to bring it.
We need Drew for the finals. Hell, we might need him for the WC playoffs. But this team is gonna go on a run, and the talk will switch from Drew to just how much the team is kicking arse without him.
The run starts tonight (ok, technically it started Friday night... but you get the picture). |
