Phil needs to stop being so stubborn and leave Bynum in at the end of a close game.

Kobe needs to pass the ball inside and stop shooting when he's tripple teamed

can't believe we almost lost another huge lead

Lakers coach Phil Jackson's assessment?

"Poor coaching," he said. "That's what it was tonight.

At least he realises where the real problem is. The second unit blew the lead in the second Q. No reaction. The game gets out of hand in the fourth. Still no reaction. Instead - we see Luke entering the game... Thank god he was not in for a long. But he was subbed out for LO again - the one who showed no game whatsoever today. Why not finish with starters? The one's who built the big lead twice. I see the common sense in Ariza finishing the game. It is OK to have Farmar, he did not play that bad. But leaving the interior open for dunks and offensive rebounds with LO in there instead of Drew...

Sasha, 7 shots on the road trip... that is indicative of piss-poor ball movement by the second unit. Shooters need the ball to move in order to get shots.

That's not happening, we give up more of those when LO isn't in the game than when he is, and when he's in the game, we easily have the best team rebounding %, this stuff is easily verified.

LO isn't and never has been a weak link for us on the boards, but he is being tasked to be more aggressively defensively on the perimeter switching out and doubling, so guys have to do the right thing if we're going to do that, get his back and box out, but the fact remains that we rebound better with LO on the floor than with any other player on the team.

Total Team Rebounding % - 53.9% LO on, 50.4% LO off
Off Team Rebounding % - 34.0% LO on, 31.0% LO off
Def Team Rebounding % - 73.8% LO on, 69.7% LO off

Feel free to look up Drew, Pau or anyone else on the team to see if the team rebounds as effectively with them on/off the floor (hint: don't bother, I already checked).

Thanks DB!

Our second unit has taken this speed ball a little too out of hand. They start getting careless with turnovers and bad execution which gives momentum to the opponent. Plus everyone is gunnin' for us with one of the top records in the league. I trust that things will come together. Better to have these problems in the beginning to make sound adjustments for the end result. Phil and Lamar needs to be on the same page. His intensity catapulted our second unit and was tremendous for us. We need that consistently in the worst way.

Kobe ball did us in at the end. I dont understand the tendency to go Kobe ball when team ball was what got us the lead in the first place. We live and die by Kobe in times like these, and in this particular scenario the snake almost bit us in the ass... almost.

You are absolutely right when you look at the whole season. Lamar has been outstanding in the first 10-12 games.

I'm talking about this particular game: Drew +17, Lamar -19; rebounds: Drew 10, Lamar 3... I will not continue, it is too embarrassing. If you like, see this: this.

If you have a chance, scroll through last 4-5 minutes of the game. You see how unsolid Pau and LO combo is on D. Drew was on the floor when momentum changed and was also responsible for the slide (although he was largely ignored on the offense at the time), but at least he was able to be a factor in the defense...
