He likes playing them. He'll have a good game. We just gotta dump the ball to him in the post. Make him earn his paycheck fisher farmar whoever's controlling the game needs to send his ass to the post and crack that whip. Force him to play up to his potential. Ride his ass for 8 weeks the least he can do is give us 8 weeks then he can go back to being numero treo.
Do not let him get the ball on the perimeter. I hate seeing him 20 feet out trying to take his man off the dribble it leads to nothing but charges or horrible 3's. I'm willing to lose to phoenix playing smart I'll be pissed if we lose playing dumb.
------
EDIT
I'm not an Odom fan. I'd love to have him traded but it is what it is. _________________

If Odom plays poorly against Phoenix, will you impose a one-week ban upon yourself?

The_Shoes is going to have a trail of Odom fans follow him out the door like lemmings.
And we know they will only go left. |

I don't know what's worse.
Watching Lamar drive to his right, Luke shoot his fadeaway "jumper," or Kwame blowing wide-open dunks then pretending to have gotten fouled by grabbing his eye. _________________ D'Antoni, Motivational Quotes from a Born Leader:

Yeah, marshmellow teams like GS and Phoenix are about the only teams we know he'll consistently play well against. _________________ 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010 |

I believe that LO realizes that he is on borrowed time. Ariza hasn't played as much lately - I believe PJ knows about what he can get out of Ariza both now and in the future - although clearly we are good with him starting at the 3. He seems to find his niche in the offense much better than LO does at the 3.
If LO can't get his act together, he may be gone this Summer. No one can say, well he has problems because he lost his son, etc. And no one can fault our FO for shipping him out for a legit PF now that Bynum clearly is our #2 option.
LO is a phenominal talent that just doesn't maximize his abilities next to the best player in the game. Sad actually. |

Not if he continues to hang around the perimeter. He's completely ineffectvie from out there. He or the Lakers seem to have abandoned his post game.
He's no Bynum, but he's a lot better than Kwame in the paint especially against a small PF like Marion. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Odom plays the 4, not the 3, so Ariza shouldn't have any effect on him. Odom has been the subject of trade rumors for years, so I doubt he's anymore worried now than he's ever been.
As always, what happens with Odom is less about our desire to replace him, than being able to find a replacement. |

My bad. Just with him not going to his strengths in the paint, I keep thinking of him as a 3 since he routinely hangs around the perimeter. He still lays balls up instead of dunking - playing with finesse - that's why people like KG be swatting him when is in the lane.
Fact remains, he is rebounding well, but his defense is lacking terribly right now. He's not boxing out and he is 6'10" - so he should be swatting at least 1.5 per game.
He just doesn't fit a structured offense like the triangle. He needs open court style of play to be effective. We need him to play good half court basketball and he is failing to deliver so far. |

The_SHOES is that you?
I thought the one week ban was for you entirely, not just for that screenname. Now we find out you have TWO screennames (at least) here at LG? _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

doubtful. Kobe gets double, triple teamed, passes it to Odom with the shot clock down to less than 5 seconds, and Odom(standing behind the 3pt line) still passes the freakin ball. Thas why u see Kobe taking 40+ shots. There is no second option |

Hey guys -- it's quite possible that he'll step up against Phoenix!
He does step up once every six games or so. |

Odom and Kwame are so sad, I don't even react to their suck play anymore. I use to get pissed, now its like I'm numb, done showing any emotion or exerting any energy getting angry anymore. Just accepted these guys are inconsistant and lousy most of the time and that's what I expect from them. Lakers are in trouble without Bynum. |

fool me a million times.... shame on me....
no, odom will not step up. he can't "step up" because he becomes useless when he thinks about basketball. he has to instinctually raise his game or he will play badly. whenever he is forced into stepping up he has a terrible game like yesterday. you could see he was THINKING about stepping up the whole time. _________________ 1) DO WHATEVER IT TAKES
