King Taco in the lead in this thread.
Another thing I'd like to add is that King Taco is the ONLY burrito place that uses salsa spicy enough to make me tear up. THAT'S A GOOD BURRITO! _________________

Not good if you have a weak stomach. Better stack up on Costco toilet papers beforehand. _________________ =======================

Corner Cottage in Burbank
On Victory Blvd. and Verdugo Ave. |
Holy crap, does Corner Cottage do regular burritos? I've only ever been there for breakfast burritos, and they are indeed the joint. I don't think I would trust eating a real burrito there, though. There aren't enough Mexicans working at that place for it to be trustworthy. There's a chain of places in the Valley called El Taco Llama. The bad thing about it is that the quality of each place varies so much, but the one on Topanga & Saticoy makes a bad-ass all meat burrito. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

El Tapayak(I think thats how you spell). Mannys special burrito.
5pound burrito. About the size of a lasagna. If you eat whole thing there they give you another. Havent had one in years. was great when absolutely baked back in the day.

Actually the place next to Johnny Pastrami (Culver City) is Tito's Tacos. I love their salsa, meat burritos and tacos. There is always a line there so you know it's good.

Chipotle is really, quite good. Not only do they strive to get organic ingredients, but their foods also have a unique twist on the more traditional flavors. I guess that's why some will label them as un-authentic...that's probably a legitimate gripe...kind of like a german complaining that a grilled Dodger Dog is not made with an authentic sausage...but it sure is good.
Also, calling Chipotle un-authentic sort of implies that maybe the ingredients used are second rate. The opposite is true. The guy that opened the first Chipotle in Colorado is a professional chef who wanted to open a small, fast casual restaurant to make some money so that he could open his "real" restaurant. When the lines quickly went out the door, he decided to open another...and was shocked to find that they had even longer lines. Ingredient matter more than anything to professional chefs.
As you can tell, I"m a fan of this company...so much so that I bought stock in it some time ago...and am very happy that I did. |
