SALT LAKE CITY — Utah coach Jerry Sloan has confirmed he’ll start Mehmet Okur at center (and also Andrei Kirilenko at small forward again), which means Phil Jackson is planning to start Lamar Odom over Andrew Bynum. One of the Lakers’ leading concerns entering this series was having Gasol and Bynum keeping track of Okur (if he played after a hamstring strain) when he flares out to the 3-point arc, especially in transition.
Jackson views it primarily as a matchups issue (he started Odom in the second half of Game 3 when Paul Millsap started instead of Jarron Collins for Utah). Jackson noted Odom and Gasol have a lot of experience playing together against Utah from last postseason. But Jackson also wants to lessen the burden on Bynum, who has struggled with foul trouble this series and would have to go up against a now-hot Carlos Boozer.
“It might be better for him to come off the bench in this situation,” Jackson said. |

Joe DeRosa
Bill Spooner
Mark Wunderlich
DeRosa is horrible, Spooner is usually decent and Wunderlich is mediocre to slightly below mediocre.
All in all, it could have been worse...but DeRosa is a concern.
