No myopia about it, I'm not a Lakers apologist. It was a competitive game that was winnable. They weren't blown out and Andrew's only in his second game back.
1. Not bad for a team on B2B facing a Blazer team that's lost only 5 at home
2. Bad calls, bad decisions, bad shooting can be overcome |

I hope people remember this game when they start fawning over Kobe as "Mr. Clutch". Fact is he tends to shoot poorly in the 4th Quarter.
In this game he shot poorly, single-handedly shut down the offense, made poor decisions, and basically "ego'd" the squad out of a winnable game. I'm really, really fed up with this kind of play.
This loss is squarely on Kobe's shoulders. There was no offensive system in the last 3 minutes BECAUSE of KOBE. He was missing his shot and still was hogging the ball. A critical turnover by Kobe because he was trying to go 1 on 5. Poor judgment, poor decision making, lack of confidence in his team-mates. Did Pau even touch the ball in the last 3 minutes?
We are not going to win any championships with this kind of play by #24. Count on that... |

When we stop settling for jumpers and take the ball to the basket every now and then maybe we'll get to the free throw line more often. That has been something that has bugged me for 2 years now. We need a guard like WADE who will go to the basket more often in close games to get some separation from the line. If that was done back in Indiana, rather than the jumper, the Lakers would've won that game. and on and on |
UHHHHH answer NO if they play the way they did tonight!
This team cannot have any demons in their head entering the playoffs, showtime never did, and trust me they know this team OWNS them for the time being.

I say rest Kobe and Pau...they have to be a little fatigued at this point. They have been playing for an entire year at this point. Just let them practice but not play in any games. |

Kobe needs to be benched for jacking up long 3's when all he's doing is bricking with the game on the line. Kobe needs to play smart or get the f' out. |

i have trouble believing that kobe heave on the out of bounds play was the play call from the coach. that was just a god awful play. i think kobe might have broken the set play and did his own thing there. if that was the play call, then rambis is lucky he still has a job as an assistant coach. |

I wish we could've seen Shannon at the end of the game. Who knows if it would've changed anything but he hit 2 3's in the 4th I believe and then was pulled out. I really don't feel the Lakers 3 point shooting is all that strong this season (especially in these late game situations) so if you have someone getting hot behind the arc, I'd keep playing him. Just my $0.02 |

The playoffs is a completely different animal. The Lakers are road tested & despite the loss the game was close all the way to the wire despite our stupid play. We crush them at home in the playoffs and we'll 1 or 2 at the Blazers w/o a problem. |

The truth is, that play was made right after a timeout. It reflects badly on Kobe, when in reality, it should reflect badly on Rambis. |

Portland's bench putting up nearly 40 points, had a huge impact on the game. |

Go to www.dictionary.com and look up choke doc.... Not sure you understand what that word means.
We choked, plain and simple, yet (bleep) again. |
We were never ahead. Cannot "choke" what we never had. |
What game were you watching? There were 26 lead changes in this game.
Using this definition, I'd say we choked:
choke
1. verb; in sports, to lose a relatively important game.

Ill give Rambis credit for ONE thing. Playing Shannon Brown in the second half instead of ear. Would have been nice if he left him in instead of pulling him for the anti-guard late though. |

As bad as the officiating was, I wouldn't blame the refs as much as I blame the coaching staff and our players' decisions down the stretch.
Oh well. It happens. Hope to see them in the playoffs and by that time, I'm hoping we can win in their home. |

I think they should've actually played Bynum more. When he was out of the game, the Blazers kept running into the lane. |

FACT |
How does this team "own" the Lakers? Series was tied 2-2 this season. Lakers have HCA against Portland. Almost beat them tonight on a B2B.
If anything, it was winnable. |

They shoot 38 freethrows despite shooting 26 3 pointers. We attack all game long and shoot 20 freethrows. What a horribly officiated game. Every time Portland missed a shot in the third and fourth quarters, they got some kind of bailout call. |
