some bulletin board material:

“When I look at the West, I don’t really see that one dominant team,’’ said Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony. “Everybody says the Lakers. Yeah, the Lakers are pretty good. But I don’t really see that one team that you say is going to win the West. I think it’s pretty much even now.’’

Not if it's a blowout. I hate how they hang on to through the last second when it's a 15+ point blowout with no hope of catching up. Makes me very angry!

Carmelo is cluelessly delusional, as usual.

atdhe.net will surely have a link. usually you'll find a thread in the lounge with several links provided by fellow LGers.

hmm.. i wouldn't count the nuggets out, they're a better defensive team than last year supposedly, and their offense is still potent. billups and melo are going to be tough to handle, and the lakers have to control the boards. like always, protect the 3!

if the bench shows up, the lakers will win easily. if the bench decides to be stupid again, well..

Seriously. If the outcome of the game is decided, I don't see the point in them staying there instead of moving to the action of the second game.

What pisses me off more though is when the first game is done, they will do a post-game interview and then send it to commercial for 2 minutes. During this time the second game is still in progress.

I always hated that Billups for Iverson trade. We'd never see Detroit anymore anyway since they'd never get past Cleveland or Boston. With Iverson Denver was in disarray, but with Billups they have one of the players in the league that hurts us most. Not that we can't beat these guys in a series, but they should be a complete afterthought instead of the tougher team they are now.

Kind of like what the rest of the league thinks about us with Gasol.

True, only that much worse. I can imagine how horrible that is for them. There are probably a lot of people out there right now crossing their fingers for Bynum to go down again.

Hopefully the Lakers and Bynum take it tonight. Before today I almost forgot how pathetic the Dodgers could be--it's so much funner following a winner.

when you have 10 game lead on the second place team and a 41-7 record against the conference how is that not dominating...Im guessing melo doesn't really believe what he says and is just saying what denver related people want to hear.

I dunno I can never like the idea of having to lose in order to motivate them to win... they (Lakers) should have enough motivation just knowing that they always get their asses handed to them when they play in Portland

same here.. i don't think ariza has the strength to guard him, and although luke defends physical players pretty well, luke shouldn't be able to stop melo... but.. im not complaining.. hah

The Denver Post is reporting that KMart is doubtful to play tonight because of his rib injury. Karl hopes he's ready by next week.
