Yup. This is exactly the game we need Bynum for. People should adjust their expectations. |
Expectations? Who needs those? Look, we are the same team that lost an overtime (mike-jackson) thriller to the freaking bobcats (get better soon GW)-- with Bynum in the lineup. As fans, how much sense would it make to "expect" the Lakers to waltz in to beantown (39 point Finals blowout on their minds and all) and snap another one of Boston winning streak------on a second night of back 2 back, without AB in the lineup?? How reasonable is that? I have no room for flimsy expectations because there are outliers (for u stat-heads) for every significant occurrence. Injures, fatigue, hot-hands, foul trouble, shady officiating. Not excuses, just factors. Rather expect the unexpected meaning.....let nature take it's course. Then learn from the outcome. Who knows, a "L" in beantown might send our team in to funk or turn us into full-time assassins for the rest of the season, seeking to destroy any and all prey in our quest for Lil Larry. Who knows? Mr. Expectations? Doubt it.
On the other hand, I agree with the OP (to a degree) and most in that long as they play hard, their hardest, that's should be enough. Win or lose, I'm a Lakers fan. The only thing that kills me about a loss is when our team doesn't give it their all and as a result they get cooked like Snaq's daily meals in Phoenix.

A little bit. Credit for maintaining the meter, but why you gotta hate on A and U. I can understand Y because it doesn't always show up, though. |

Yet I bet a bunch of people here expect the Lakers to do just that.
Which is fine, but this place has this habit of freaking out whenever the Lakers lose.
All I'm asking for is the Lakers to play hard and make it a good game. And like Kobe, I want to see how good this team is when they're playing on the road against an elite. |

although I would love to see us pull this one off I don't believe we will especially after a back to back, and without a legit bang em up center. Celtics will be playing their butts off to show that they are superior to us. I'll chalk this one up to the schedule. _________________ 11/9/12 the day the brown was flushed down!!!!!!

pierce would school powell. i mean straight up school him. powell does NOT have the foot speed to defend pierce's jump shot or keep pierce from driving and drawing fouls on him. |

Mihm is completely broken. Mihm seems to be sporting two 50 pound ankle bracelets. |
Missing those easy buckets tonight looked even worse when he got his own rebound and missed again. |
His timing is off. That's what happens when you don't get a lot of burn at NBA real-game speed for over two years. You can't simulate real-game speed in practice. if Mihm is to make any impact whatsoever this year, PJ has to give him meaningful in-game burn, else Mihm will never acclimate to the faster pace of the game. And he'll play even worse in the play-offs if it came to that because the speed and intensity in the play-offs is greater still.
The same goes for Mbenga. I'm not sure why he never gets burn. he looked likle a useful player last year.

if kobe and gasol's jumpers are going, then we'll win with no problems, bynum or no bynum. if even one of the two has a tough shooting night (missing 15 footers) then it'll be very tough. even without bynum we're a much better team than the end of last season with the return of ariza. |

lakers + ariza+ powell
celtics - posey - pj brown
again, we shouldnt get blown out
it's not like our talent level is THAT much inferior to the celtics without bynum
matter of fact, i'd say we have more talent. i still take our trio over boston's trio. and i take our bench over theirs too. _________________ Dominating every day. |

tmrw when we step on the "parquet floor"((bleep) their floor) we need to remember that we got blown out and embarrased by 39 (bleep) points last year. losing is one thing, but getting (bleep) blown out and embarrased is another
every player needs to look at himself in the mirror and remind themselves how they felt last year in game 6. how they felt when boston would not let up and even subbed in starters when they were up 30 in the 4th quarter. how classless they were after the game.
gasol has been playing great ball as of late, and if it stops because of kendrick "i try to act hard because im small down there" perkins, then we have problems. gasol is one of the best players in the WORLD, and he needs to show it tmrw. kobe needs to play smart basketball and take what the defense gives him. guys like odom, farmar, sasha, etc need to be ready to drain open shots off kobe's doubles/triples.
(bleep) rivers, (bleep) kg, (bleep) allen, (bleep) pierce, (bleep) red too
im tired of getting blown out in (bleep) boston
lets start this (bleep) party |
