Posey was a serious factor in every game we played against Boston, seems like we were neck in neck with Boston until Posey came in. He'd Hit a big three, get a key steal/Rebound, offensive fouls on Lamar and etc, he was just a pain in thee ass against us. We beat Boston in the finals if they didn't have Posey in my opinion. Thank Goodness he's no longer there to torch us.

The Lakers just have to play with intensity the whole 48 minutes, execute on offense ( see the first halves of games 4-5), Kobe needs to dominate Ray Allen Offensively like game 3. Our Bigs( Bynum, Gasol and Lamar)
cannot not play soft.

Everything near the rim needs to be a Dunk, (bleep) the layups, cause when it hits the glass, KG will swat that (bleep) and the refs will not call goal tending, this (bleep) happened constantly in the finals. So dont expect the refs to bail you out, if it's near the rim,DUNK THE BALL.

Bynum needs to anchor the hell out of that paint and keep Perkins big ass off the boards, (pau needs to box out KG, hell everybody on the floor needs to box out), can't let them get second chance points, make it 1 and done. If we do these things, we should be able to beat Boston.

But it will be very tough, I just have a feeling that Ray and Paul are gonna light us up from the perimeter and Bynum will get in Bogus foul trouble early. I'll say 104-98 Lakers, but it could be 110-97 Boston, if we keep playing like we are today, not matching the other teams intensity.

Oh he'll be there to torch us when we face New Orleans.

He can torch us all he wants in New Orleans, but as far as defensively, he's not really the Same Posey in their system as he was in Boston. Some of the things he were doing defensively last year, they're calling him for fouls in New Orleans.

Posey killed us on both ends last year, he shut down Lamar completely in that second half of game 4. Him alone will not matter against us in the Hornets system, we can still pick them apart with our offense like always do. He doesn't have KG to hide behind on the hornets

this team has been aching to get back at the Cs. the defensive scheme has been drawn to stop them. they've been overlooking a few teams in the process.

97 (us) - 89 (posers)

“He’s up to those same tricks,” Boston coach Doc Rivers said. “Last year, I loved what he did, setting flops, charges, grabbing, holding, getting away with hitting on the arm. Today I think I complained about Posey the entire game. He’s a pain in the butt; he really is. Now I know why I loved him on our team.”

Jeeez... should it make me feel better that even Doc Rivers is admitting to the crap they were getting away with?

I'm a fan and usually an optimist, but I think the C's will beat us. I hope I am wrong though.

I want us to win this game against Boston but unless they play better defense and our big men control the paint, Boston will win by 11 points. I agree Kobe and the Lakers will be ready for this matchup but I hope the team will win the games before the showdown against the Celtics.

If we play good defense, out rebound and keep our TO below 10 we will win by 9.

Boston got the rings. They don't need this game as bad as the Lakers do. With that said, the Lakers win in a blow out. Something like 117-103. (14 points seems close - and the Lakers give up over 100 in my prediction - but the bench can't keep a lead).

I am calling my shot now on 12/12 with the Lakers not playing well presently.

I like the Lakers to win on Christmas Day and win with surprising ease.

Let's say Lakers 105, Boston 92

Call your shot before the game or no bragging/whining rights after.

Definitely not a blowout
1st off Boston is 22-2
and their defense is solid as a rock
unless everyone in the Lakers shoots lights out
I don't see a win

Hollywood on the big occasion? Well there's always gotta be a little drama. Maybe Kobe will go off in a wheelchair and then come back hit a big 3, and slap jack Nicholson 5 on the way back down.

I think Kobe will come all guns blazing, he's hurting real bad from the finals loss, and there's no-one now they don't have Posey to cheat who can get in the way.

I agree. Unless the Lakers change their way of thinking between now and Christmas, I dont see how they beat Boston. Lakers cant even stop mediocre teams from waltzing into the paint and scoring.
It also doesnt help that Phil always thinks the problem and solution is always OFFENSE.

If the game is being called close the Lakers might eek out a close win 105-101, but if they are letting them play the C's win 92-81.
The C's have as much to prove to the world as we do and their system is clicking on all cylinders.

They're playing horribly and the Celtics look untouchable right now.

Unless the Lakers are a different team when focused, they will get torched while shooting ~40%.

The Lakers have been playing well against good teams.

So before you start kissing up to the Big Bad Celtics or the Mighty LeBrons,

Against .500+ teams this year:

Lakers are 10-1
Celtics are 7-1
Cavs are 5-3

That's the problem . . . they have to worry about them instead of showing up and taking care of them.

Because of that, there's no way these guys beat the Celts Xmas day.

Barring some kind of miraculous increase in defensive execution and decline in selfishness and gambling:

Boston 119
Lakers 98

Yet somehow I have the feeling that many wouldn't mind if we went 0-6 and then beat the Celtics.

96-88, Lakers. THey'll be playing some of their best defense of the year.

Ariza starts his first game of many

Bynum and Pau get double doubles

Kobe with 25pts, 7, 8.
