the one thing i that really bugs me after watching the game is that the defense just wasn't any better than last year...

that and odom is a threat to be a threat and nothing more...

Bynum looked ok in the beginning then I guess he started worse. Hope it's something he can fix. Now the Bynum coming off the bench seems right at least with his play. The first team played pretty ewll

Bynum did a decent job, Ariza and Farmar did pretty well, I liked the play of CG Giles.

Maybe these players are incapable of playing good defense. Its the same team for the most part as last year. A big team usually means a slow team.

Bynum played well, for someone who hasn't played in a game in 10 months. 15-8 and 1 in 24 minutes. His timing is definitely off as you can see that he has Zero Blocked shots, it'll all come back to him, it's only the first preseason game.

Bynum obviously isn't in playing shape and still has to get his timing back... that said, he still had 15 PTS, 8 RBD in 24 minutes. Fact is, Bynum still looked more impressive tonight that he did last year at this time. If you don't agree, go take a look at our first pre-season game against Golden State last year. Drew had like one highlight total.

No one except Gasol really impressed tonight. We shouldn't expect more than that from the first pre-season game.

Can someone honestly tell me what was Odom doing for the entire game? Look, I hate for this thread to be another Odom bash fest but this is truly pathetic.

The man did nothing to exert himself. Absolutely nothing good came when the ball touched his hand except for the first assist to Ariza (2 minutes into the game). What the hell is this bull, Odom? We are trying to win a championship here!

He said that he would only concede the starting position if someone played better than him. That someone is Trevor Ariza. He played better, way way better than Odom both on offense and defense. Even when his offense stalled, he still made a difference on defense while Odom was letting Millsap punk him over and over again.
There is absolutely no reason NOT to start Ariza over Odom.

Bynum's fine, just needs his timing down. Mihm, Powell, Giles played solid

I wonder if they'll go sight-seeing in beautiful Ontario for that matter. They can go check out quaint Chino while they're at it.

Lanny, I rest my case. These game threads are worthless.

Go Dodgers!

what personnel changes are you talking about? rambis pretty much played the regulars the whole 3rd and that happens to be the quarter the jazz took the lead for good...

anybody who has watched odom play knows his supposed "strength" - his versatility - is also his greatest liability...at least pippen was a killer on defense...

Oden is looking crippled himself, so I doubt we'll see either destroying each other.

Did Odom even score a single point? I don't think he did going to check out his stat line and post it on here unless someone beat me to it. But he sure didn't look like he even cared being out there.
