I am partial to old fashion chocolate or maple. I also like apple fritters.
As for places, nothing beats Winchelles for me. |

For me, keep it simple... a nice glazed donut from Dunkin.... like everything else in Cali, there is no Winchelle's on the east coast, come think of it, besides Dunkin, are there any other dounts chains (Krispy Kreme are all but gone)... |

Winchell's is gone too. They got bought out by Yum Yum donuts a few years ago. Most of the Winchell's shops got converted, but a few of them are still around. They're all run by Yum Yum though.
I'm a big fan of filled donuts. Whether it's creme or custard or some fruity goo. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

I like it simple too. An old fashion, old fashion glazed or just plain cake donut do it for me.
Any canadians around here or other who've been to Tim Horton's? Love that place. |

I grew up in South Pasadena and there is still one on Fair Oaks Ave. I love that place. |

I love plain donuts - but the maple glaze at Tim Horton's gets me every time. |

Tim Horton's is OK. They are making their way, or have been making their way into the US for a while. At least here in MI you can find them.
I do like those Dunkin Donut donuts with either peanuts or coconut flakes on them.
But nothing beats the fresh new donuts you get at the farm when picking apples and getting apple cider. That is one joy of having seasons up here in the north. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

There's a Tim Horton's at pretty much every intersection here in Toronto! We Canadians even had one built at the military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan for our troops serving there.
I like apple or blueberry fritters, although I'm partial to their Timbits myself. |

if any east coasters want to pipe in, i'd love to hear it.
...also, in santa monica there's a little place called DK's Donuts. incredible. the best. it's on santa monica blvd. a couple blocks west of 20th. |

I love the donuts you get at Apple Cider Mills. I usually get a box from the grocery store at least once each Fall, but when I was younger I used to go to the Cider Mill and get them fresh.
I like Apple Fritters and Coconut (glazed).
for me, local's always better than chain...so I get donuts from Washtenaw Dairy. _________________ "I define success by championships, by winning..." Kobe Bryant
