Take into consideration, the angle of the blocked shot. If you ever attempt to block a shot AND get into position to take a charge, you always draw a foul anyway.
See Andrew Bynum. He does that the most. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

2 questions - is anybody familiar with dimitris diamantidis of greece ?
what a perfect perfect tri fit. and before you make assumptions - the reigning 2 time euroleague defensive player of the year.
i never hear his name mentioned, and i know he's a free agent after this season. p.e.r.f.e.c.t. - especially considering it probably won't cost us more than our own 2nd rd pick.
which leads me to my 2nd question - if the guy doesn't get drafted, can we just sign him as a free agent ?
i think he's 26 years old if that matters for some rule...
anybody know ?
i'm almost positive he's never been drafted.
thanks. |

^I wanted a Laker tryout with that guy roughly 3 years ago.
Still worth a shot at 26.
Yes, he can be signed as a free agent. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

good news. thanks mike.
every time i see him i am baffled that the lakers never tried him out.
he was allways close to our ideal big guard next to kobe, but these past couple of years he's really improved his 3 pt shooting to the point where i think he could just be perfect.
its like anthony parker only hitting the nba at 31 years old after being the best player in europse for several years now (i should know - played for my home town team), and here he is doing very well for the raps - being their glue guy - their luke walton, and making people wish they tempted him with more money years ago.
actually i never thought about it, but parker gives me even more hope than i initially had that diamantidis will have no problem at 27 to do well in the nba.
simply has everything we're looking for - just needs to test it at the nba level. at the europian level - he's elite in every aspect of the game we are looking for.
this guy was made for the triangle. |

We NEED a PF that can try to check TD, Dirk, KG ( he is NEVER going to be in PnG ), Booze, etc. Turiaf-nice guy, too many fouls.
HH=Herbert Hill, 6-10, 240 Providence, Senior
2/24 vs Syracue 29 Pts ( 13 for 16 ), 15 Reb, 8! Blocks
He was he only guy scoring so you know he was getting double teamed.
I would take him at the end of the FIRST round over any jump shooter/polished offenive player ( we have enough of those ) at any position. |

if we'll look for someone who can check td and those guys - we need to look at trades - not the 20's in the draft...
i think green sounds like a logical phil jackson/mitch draft pick.
solid all around, very inteligent, should fit in well offensively, but not the defensive specialist we need.
still, i dont' think anyone can complain if we get him - you can just see he will be a solid nba player for years.
still, brewer is the best choice - although it will require trading up.
if by some miracle, belinelli is available when we draft - we will be kicking ourselves for years if we don't snatch this guy. i can not stress this enough - grab this guy !!! you will thank me for years after... |

I love Hill. If he can continue to expand his shooting range he'd be a really nice PF next to Odom and Bynum. |

I loved Green his freshman year when he was Big East freshman of the year and looked like he could still grow into an NBA PF. He looked like a smaller Chris Webber. At this point, I'm not so sure how I feel about him. He hasn't grown into a PF, and he doesn't yet have an NBA-ready SF skill set. I'd like to see him stay at Georgetown another year. |

I would love it if we could land Green, the best SF prospect in this draft behind Brewer. If we don't get Odom back, we will likely drop a couple of draft spots and he should be available. He is currenly playing in the Princeton motion offense, so he should be a natural for the Triangle.
This snip is from Draftexpress.com:
Generally speaking, Green doesn't wow you on first sight with phenomenal athleticism or upside, but the more you watch him play, the more he grows on you. He isn't the type of player that will fit in every, or even most, NBA systems, but if put in the right niche where he's able to play up to his strengths, he will find success as a versatile role player. Teams like the Utah Jazz or Los Angles Lakers with the offenses they run seem like the best fit. Persistent rumors from the DC area all season long indicate that he is strongly considering entering his name in this year's draft and leaving it in if he's considered a first round pick.

if we draft green id be elated. ive been on his bandwagon since last year. hes got the basketball smarts and a great allaround game. the fact that he improved his jumper this past year shows how hes dedicated to getting better and hes developed that killer instinct that past couple of months. too bad hibbert gets all the attention even though green is the much better player. i expect georgetown to blow up in the tourney and everyone will see how great green is. |
