Kobe may not play tonight so it's an Odom led team with Mo filling in for Kobe. Subtract Kobe's 25-50 points from any of our totals and see that we should be very careful of getting overconfident about beating any team.

Wasn't the Odom-led Laker team 3-0 to start the season, beating Phoenix and Golden State? I hope that Kobe sits so that he is completely healthy for the Texas tour next week when we will really need him. The Lakers are in good hands. Also, someone will be taking Kobe's shots, so I don't think that you should automatically assume that the Lakers are going to score 25-50 points less without him.

Right now he's on the "good fans are always positive" kick. This is the same guy that frequently wanted to "bash player X's head in with a shovel" if they missed a layup or had a turnover as he posted under his myriad of screenames over the years.

Aww ... Let bygones be bygones Tee.

There's FAR, FAR, FARmar worse on LG right now ... infact I can name 5 of the top of my head who have made it ten times worse than the OP ever did in the past.

Mr. Lakeshow - next game thread try "The hungry beasts are ready to feast" ... I think that is the best slogan to go with.

Lets hope Lakers take advantage of a Hornets team that is injured and on a low right now ....

Your post gets my stamp of approval, wolf!

True. The key word is "should" but we all know the Lakers have a history of letdowns against lesser teams.

I wish people would stop saying this like it's something the Lakers are known for. Every team in the history of sport has had bad losses to teams they should beat. In 1996, the Bulls went 72-10. 2 of their losses came against the Nuggets and Raptors, teams that went a combined 56-108. It happens to the best of teams.

AMEN BROTHER!

Houston lost to Minny tonight. They fall to 12-6. Lakers are 12-5. I know it's still way early in the season, but you need to win games that seperate you from your competition.

The Hornets don't have Peja, West or B-Jax (big suprise on the last one). If we don't win this game convincingly - not a good game. I'll take an ugly win, but I would really like to see the Lakers destroy a team that's struggling.

Show that killer instinct and dominance at home.

BTW - I expect some zone tonight.

Game started, as if we were just going to put up 3 point attempts... Lamar just slices through their defense... Kobe starting to heat up.

How are Kobe's movements? Cutting? How is his defense? Last game people were raving about his defense and how active he was.

Lakers in the lead, but not as much energy to start this game that they had the last 3 games.

Lakers just extremely smooth on O.

Not playing hard on D though.

Some highlight plays by Lamar (Nice move coast to coast) and Luke (nice pass to Kwame)

Kobe looks solid.

Lakers 16
Hornets 15

1) 2-3 on jumpshots
2) hasnt driven to the hole
3) not as good lateral movment and defense from him in this game so far...as expected.

on the whole, the lakers are leading by 3, but their energy isnt the same this game on the defensive end.

The more I watch the lakers this season, the more obvious it is all tied to our leader.

IF our leader comes out with a ton of energy, then so does the rest of our team.

Paul has started to get a bit hot from the field through penetration.

Our defensive rotations could use some work.
