exactly. Kobe should play like this. Nobody can handle him when he's like this. |
At the end of the day, Kobe needs to be who he is. And we need to accept it. Kobe's biggest sin right now is that he's trying to be everything to everybody. And it's sooooo not working.
Kobe just needs to do what he does best. Everybody else is just gonna have to deal with it. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

I am so sick of the NBA...every year they get worse. That "technical foul", which followed 2 bogus foul calls, is why the NBA is bush league and is going to go down in flames. The rules are stupid, the refs suck, and they get worse every year. I'm not sure how much longer I can watch this crappy league. |

This is good. After this embarassment, there will be some soul searching. When was the last time anybody seen Smush?
This game is a joke... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

I can accept Lamar's deficiencies on defense, due to his lack of strength.
But his unwillingness to assert himself baffles the hell out of me. |

this game has a purpose, can't you see it?...ask Phil Jackson. When it's time to win when it matters the most (the playoffs), the boys will know what they need to do. That's if we get to the playoffs playing scared like this.
anyways, whoever told Kobe to go passive needs to stop breathing. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Kobe's fire seemed to have died but I see it flaring back up again.
He looked complacent for the first few games.
Turn it ON, Kobe! |

Tay Prince is a toothpick with arms, and yet he can battle for boards and play some tough D. Lamar looks like Mr. Universe compared to Prince _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

with kobe i am thoroughly confused, 3 quarters 1-4 field goals, slips on defense, 4th quarter lights up detroit with drives to get to the line and real nice moves to get 17 of total 19 in that one quarter.. |

I think Kobe is playing with a knee that is not altogether 100% yet... At the same time, he doesn't want to let his fans down... Kobe wants to be Kobe, and he is forcing himself, at times. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |

There's nothing to be confused about. Kobe is trying to ease himself back in. More importantly, he's trying to get these guys to be aggressive and stay aggressive when he's on the floor. Let's get more specific. Kobe's been passive for Lamar's sake. He's tryng to give Lamar all the space he can handle to be comfortable and aggressive like he was the first few games. But that plan needs to go out window. If Lamar's gonna not shoot and pass up shots even when Kobe's not attacking, what's the point? _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

Detroit has a hard-hitting, slashing offense, with Prince, Billups, a newly healed McDyess, and Nazr... In spite of myself, I'm impressed. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |

Westphal gives us a refreshing point of view... I find myself thinking like him...
I keep thinking of what we had, in those first two games!!... I don't see the same chemistry. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |

What I see is reality settling in. We are not going to outscore everybody. But our guys can't get inside their shells after missing a shot or two. People can blame Kobe all they want. But keep shooting darn thing! If Kobe does make a statement, then this statement is simple: "Keep moving without the ball and shoot when open shot is there. If there is a pain of growing up with this team, I am with you, guys!" Too bad that Smush is shooting though
I guess, Kobe gotta stop doing it and insert himself early and often. When these guys hit a bump, they start shooting 3 in bunches.
And Drew... Sorry, guys. He can do his staff against weak post defenders and gets lost when agressively double teamed. His agression was not there today again. Same thing: he needs to be successful early to be assertive.
Unfortunately, he reminded me today Shaq in Detroit series: good FG %, but no footprint on the game. And, please, don't tell me that he can't score from the bench or that he was not getting enough touches in the post: Phil pulled him out because he was not active to get the ball in the post. Besides, you don't get rebounds with your hands down... |

Well playing teams that don't play any defense sure helps. Our players look like allstars in the making when they make open shots against poor defense and we look like scrubs when we miss against teams that play a little defense. We are a work in progress, we were not ready for a zone defense tonight. We went small again and played with no passion. We are only good as a team when we play with passion, we rebound better which leads to fast breaks and easy shots which creates momentum and now we start to play aggressive help defense box out and make those open shots. Where was Bynum and Turiaf speaking of passion. Turiaf needs to play at pf and cook only at pf when Kame gets back. Smush needs to come off the bench, go with Farmar or go big depending on matchups and let teams react to our lineup instead of the other way around. |

1. What is Bian Cook doing in the game?
2. Kobe needs to limit his minutes
3. Odom needs to remember what he did the first two games.
4. Smush needs some "heart" lessons from Turiaf
5. Turiaf needs to play more
6. The rotations need to be more defined
7. It's early fellas..... |
