Yaroslav Korolev's option was not picked up by the Clippers. He was selected #12 overall just behind Andrew Bynum and Fran Vazquez. Some scouts saw the potential of another Kirilenko type player, but not picking up a lottery pick's option is a bad sign. The Clippers will pay him through his second season, but not his third season.

Rafael Araujo is now 26 years old. The Raptors thought he was mature enough to make a quick transition to the NBA. The Raptors used the #8 overall pick for a player with limited upside, who will be a marginal reserve.

I think Korolev actually has game. Just, it's Sterling.

He showed quite a bit of skill for a 17 year old in his rookie year. Right along the same parallels of Radmanovic with the perimeter shooting and ball-handling.

Not bad for a 17 year old. I know more is expected out of him but it's not like he was allowed to expand the offense in the way that Bynum does for the Lakers.

I subsequently read an article that says the Clippers want to re-sign him to a lower contract. That does sound like the old Donald Sterling.

Buss too.

They waived B-Shaw in 2001 right before his contract was to become guaranteed for the season then re-signed him off waivers a few days later.

It's just business.

The Lakers had overpaid Shaw a full-MLE. He deserved a pay cut. They continued to pay him after his playing days were over. Not picking up an option for Korolev is not a good sign. Options are normally picked up. The Clippers are saying he's not worth the option price.

Dejuan Wagner's illness caused him to have his intestines removed. He wasn't really as much a disappointment in player development as a victim of health problems.

Adonal Foyle was a #8 overall pick. He's now 31 years old and has averaged 4.5/5.2 for his career.

Samaki Walker and Todd Fuller ahead of Kobe Bryant. Enough said.

They were young bigs with promise. Walker was #9 overall and Fuller was #11 overall. I recall Walker being compared with a young Horace Grant. Fuller along with Foyle were Golden State Warriors. When you consider the Lakers drafted Eddie Jones, who had made the All-Stars and Andrew Bynum at #10 overall, the Lakers have done a better job in the Lottery.

Walker was active in the paint but still had bad hands in college.

Todd Fuller? Doesn't get any less athletic for a bigman. His only skill was a jumpshot.

Adonal Foyle is some 4.0GPA guy with a major I don't remember.

Foyle is at least still in the NBA. Fuller has been out of the NBA for a while.
