ESPN's Chad Ford is reporting that the Bulls and Timberwolves are talking trade with Kevin Garnett the focal point. Minnesota would receive picks No. 2 (Tyrus Thomas) and No. 16 (probably Marcus Williams) along with either Luol Deng or Ben Gordon
big if this happens, I hope it does... |

I wondered why this deal was never discussed. If Minny gets to keep their #7, it is a great move. It is what the Shaq trade should have been. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

To me, Chicago is way overpaying. I wouldn't do it if I was Chicago. |

I think it's good for both teams, but chicago might be overpaying a little.
Chicago gets a vet to go with their young core, Minny gets some young guys to build around. They could be the 05-06 Bulls in 08 or 09 |

I don't think the Bulls are overpaying, in fact they're getting the better of the deal. KG is proven, no one in today's draft is, many top picks have been busts. If they pull this one off, the Bulls will be a top contender. It could be good for the Wolves, time will tell. |

Chicago would be making out like Bandits. Imagine the block party between KG and Tyson inside. While still having Hinirich, Duhon, Sweetney, Niconi, (Gordon or Deng), etc.. Good news is KG would eat up most of their cap space knocking them out of the FA market and it would weaken the West. |

Chicago has a better offer than we do, unless Minny sees Bynum as the next big thing... _________________ -

This is a great trade for both teams. KG goes to a team where he will have a good chance to contend with Hinrich, Deng or Gordon, and Chandler. Minnesota gets to rebuild with a really really young core. Great deal for both teams if it happens. |

Great... In all likelihood, this trade will fall apart, giving KG an excuse to demand a trade to the Lakers. |

This is such a great deal for the Bulls, that I'm thinking that next year's draft option with the Knicks has to be involved as well. Too cheap a price for KG. |

Ventura called this months ago, if this is indeed true. Chicago make a lot of sense for a lot of reasons. Moreso than us by a long way from Minny's standpoint. _________________ "Why do you think bad things happen, anyway???" "So we have something good to look forward to."

the bulls would have a killer lineup. all they would need is a real center and they will easily but contenders _________________ pjax coming back - "Crazy theories one, regular theories a billion."

We don't have what Minne would want if they traded KG. Minne would be in rebuild mode, and would have little use for anything other than quality lotto picks, talent under rookie contracts, and expiring contracts. Even better than an expiring contract would be a trade with a party like Chicago, as they're below the cap and needn't match salaries. Hence Minne wouldn't be stuck paying for an entire season, as would be the case with expiring contracts.
I'm surprised if this is all it would take though. For starters, I wouldn't want Chandler, and I'd demand Heinrich instead of Gordon. I'd also dump some bad contracts on Chitown. |

I think Chicago also would have to take on 2 of Minny's big contracts like Jaric, Blount, Hudson, Hassell, etc. But that is still a great trade for Chicago. _________________ The great Laker Center Tradition continues.....Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Gasol, AD....Gasol. |
